The airlines are charging extra for everything these days;
Check a bag: $75.
Aisle seat: $50
Window seat: $40
Fly upside-down over Cincinatti: $25 each.

Looks like they got everyone to agree. That doesn't happen very often. Usually at least one person gets cheap or squeamish.

The other night I was downtown with Pam taking pictures, I noticed this garage in the middle of a larger structure, and I thought it was cool. Apartments for cars.

Taking pictures with my wife is a blast. I'm thankful we share this hobby.

Balloon Assisted Face Down Tuesday

After scraping my face across the sidewalk last week when my son used me as a surfboard, I decided this week it would be better to float a safe distance above any rough surfaces. Luckily for me I was able to find a dollar store that uses 100% PURE helium in their balloons, so it didn't take very many to provide the lift I needed.

I think I might use this technique for aerial photography as well. Balloon assisted floating flight fun facedown photography, or BAFFFFP for short.

He was rolling and posing and growling at the lens. It really looked like he knew what he was doing.

Ed, Lou and I jumped out of the windows seconds after this was taken.

That's right. It's Tuesday. Time for some face down craziness. Initially I found it difficult to read face down, but once I became part of the stack, it wasn't so bad after all.

This was shot in an abandoned convent in Detroit.

Shout out to Doppelganger for the idea on this one, for stacking the books on top of me, and for being my trigger-man.

It was my wife's birthday today, and my intention was to have some of my mini notkalvins jump out of the cake. Unfortunately, they got the directions mixed up, as usual. They ended up jumping into the cake.

Skaters leaving Hart Plaza

Yesterday my son and I were part of a huge skateboard rally that started at Hart Plaza, then crossed Detroit, and ended up at the Brewster Projects. I shot video of the throng leaving Hart Plaza, and this is a screen capture from the video. I thought it was fairly representative of the masses.

They skated right out across Jefferson, and took over both sides of Woodward. Needless to say, car traffic stopped for a while.

Seeing the posts of my friends Vishal and Alfredo from my favorite silo inspired me to go back and do the wool spin that I've been putting off for months. I'm really not sure why the top of the silo appears blue - I didn't do anything with the colors or contrast.

Pretty wild, huh?

This looks really kickass on black. Just sayin'.

I rushed to Detroit this morning trying to catch the "severe fog", but by the time the kids had gotten on the bus, and I made my way down, I was too late. I got to see it from the freeway, but didn't think I would be too popular if I stopped in the middle of rush hour and set up my tripod on the roof of my truck... Since I was in the city, I decided to take some pictures anyway. Couldn't resist staging this one when I saw how powerful the steam was today. Detroit makes its own fog.

Can't decide on the title...

Took the DC Metro out of the city following the fireworks on the 4th. All the hands holding on to the overhead bars looked to make an interesting shot, so I pressed the camera up against the ceiling and shot back into the car.
