Our project is installed in the Robert Treat Hotel where dignitaries and VIPs for the Newark Peace Education Summit are staying. (including HH Dalai Lama). It'll be up through the end of the conference on Sunday, May 15.

The book is made of 23 16x20" panes of glass, each of which was designed by a student at S. 17th St. Middle School in Newark, NJ

made from knitty.com pattern for "Flo the Elephant" available at www.knitty.com/ISSUEff10/FEATff10SIT.php

I used different yarns that what was called for in the pattern and also altered the tail by doing an i-cord instead. Material was wool except for the cream yarn, which is a silk/cotton blend from habu textiles.
