Jökulsárlón at the Vatnajökull(Vatna Glacier), Southern Iceland.

Vatnajökull is the largest and most voluminous Icelandic glacier and the largest ice cap in Europe by volume. It has a total volume of more than 3,100 km³. It is covering more than 8 percent of the country. (8,100 km²)

ist ein Wasserschloss in Dortmund.
Das Schloss ist im 13. Jahrhundert von der Familie von Bodelschwingh erbaut worden und befindet sich noch heute im Familienbesitz.
Zu sehen ist die Ansicht von der Südseite.

Bodelschwingh Castle is located in Dortmund.
The castle has been build in the 13th century by the family Bodelschwingh and it is still their residence. The photo shows the view from the south side.

Schloss Nordkirchen,
das barocke Wasserschloss - Westfälisches Versailles genannt - liegt auf einer von viereckigen Gräften umgebenen Insel inmitten eines großen Parks.
Zu sehen ist die Ansicht der Gartenseite.

Das Schloss ist kein Museum. Es gehört mit seinem 71 ha großen Schlosspark dem Land Nordrhein-Westfalen. Hier erfolgt heute die Ausbildung für den gehobenen Dienst der Finanzverwaltung NRW.

It stands on a rectangular island surrounded by a broad moat-like canal.

Der Kurort Nordseebad Dangast liegt am südwestlichen Jadebusen im Landkreis Friesland und ist Teil der Stadt Varel.

Seebrücke Selin

Seebrücke Selin, Rügen island
Die Seebrücke ist etwa 400 Meter lang.
Die Originalbrücke ist 1901 gebaut worden. Leider wurde sie 1942 durch starke Eisbewegungen vollständig zerstört. Nach der deutschen Wiedervereinigung wurde sie 1998 wieder rekonstruiert.

It pier reaches a length of nearly 400 metres.
The original pier was build in 1901 but it has been destroyed by ice floes during winter of 1942.
It was reconstructed in the nineties of the 20th century after German reunification.

Santa Cruz - La Palma

Umzüge in prächtigen Kostümen, Salsa-Rhythmen, Feuerwerk und vorallem eins: GANZ VIEL WEISS!
Die Feiernden werfen mit Talkum- Babypuder "Polvo“ bis die ganze Stadt mit dem weißen Pulver bestäubt ist. Daher stammt der Nebel auf dem Photo. Dieser ist nicht mit Photoshop erzeugt worden sondern stammt von dem Pulver.

Dieses Brauchtum entstand vor etwa 300 Jahren. Damals war die Wirtschaftslage schlecht und viele Palmeros wanderten aus nach Mittel- und Südamerika.
Einige der Ausgewanderten kehrten Jahre später im Wohlstand nach La Palma zurück.
Mit dabei hatten sie Koffer voller Geld und weisse karibische Kleider.
Zum Gedenken an diese Auswanderer wird jedes Jahr zu Karneval der Dia de los Indianos gefeiert.
