Taken from the Herculean ruins, behind is the modern town of Ercolano and behind that you can see Vesuvius, when you are here you can fully understand how the town was affected by any lava flow or ash

The old fishing harbour area of Sorrento, found it by chance really as we took an unconventional walk down into the town one day and happened to spot this place. Is lovely with small cafe's and old buildings, Sorrento itself is so un-commercial, they have allowed the city to sell itself and apart from a few friendly restaurant workers in the main marina trying to lure you into there eatery it is lovely and peaceful

I did not know this existed, just on an whim we walk up from the main Sorrento square just to see what was there, saw a fence and just went up to see what was on the other side. We were presented with this magnificent sight, it is simply glorious and even better considering we knew nothing about this at all so was a great surprise

Sun had pretty much set off to the left leaving this wonderfully coloured sky, light was minimal where I was but fortunately the fence I was stood next too had some flat pillars I could place my camera on. This (and a handful of others) is my first real attempt at long exposure so very happy with this

Well apart from that one. Probably the most surprising shot I took in Sorrento in the sense that I thought nothing of it when I took the shot but once home and processed I really liked how it came out
