I've been pretty hardcore Instagramming all this time, Flickr left forgotten... But in light of IG's new super shady Terms of Service, it looks like I may be returning to good old Flickr. And hey, it looks like the Flickr app got way cooler since last time I tried to use it!

I know that this is just a simple one, but I took it as an homage/loose recreation of this photo. And yes, it is the same cornfield... except it's much higher this year. It's almost 10 feet tall because of all the rain.

I think I'd like a picture like this every summer... as long as they keep planting corn there. ;)

There are more interesting cornfield photos to come as well.... As in, more interesting than this one.. lol

Funny that in the first one I'm so tan... and in this one I'm pale, even though I lived in PA for the first one, and live in California now. Ha! (Though, really... it's too hot to go outside here :P)

Taking a short break from the Pennsylvania photos, for this....

I had this in my head all day, I'm not sure why. I had Eleanor Rigby, by the Beatles stuck in my head, and I just saw this happen in my brain.

You can see that my hair is weird light brown/dark strawberry blonde-ish. It looks different in the photo because of the editing and color balance changes and such, but you get the idea.

I needed a 'blindfold' to make this one as I saw it in my mind, and went with elle's necktie plan. (This is a tie I bought for a Halloween costume a few years ago.)

I think that people will either hate this photo and think it's 'weird', or love it like I do.

Yeah, figured it was time to upload a new one before everyone died of boredom looking at my non-selfies. ;P

Ok, I'll stop being snarky. :) It has been brought to my attention though, that I've been majorly slacking in the self-portraits. I am going to try to squeeeeze in some time for some new ones this week. xo

Hope you're all well!! I'm looking and reading and trying to keep up - not commenting much- still getting used to this whole "job" thing. I love my job, but since I haven't had one since early 2005, I'm having some time management troubles. =/

Today, I shot my first "real" self-portraits in a very, very long time. The full production... make up, wardrobe, the tripod, my remote... Put Dylan in his little chair and let him chill out on the back patio watching me snap away.

This is one of my favorites from the day. It felt good to get back to it, and even better that it wasn't a total disaster. That's what I was most worried about. That I'd get all geared up for a shoot and it would totally fall flat, or D would cry as soon as I started shooting, or I'd have lost my touch with editing... But I'm happy with what I shot today.

More coming. :)

Shot the same time as the one before, processed quite differently. I like this...

So much to edit and upload from our trip. I already have about 20 self-portraits edited... but they'll be added in time. ;)

I got bored and dyed my hair tonight... It's really light. Almost a dark strawberry blonde. It's nuts. I am going to leave it for a few days, and then it's going to be another color (red).

So much more to come from our trip.. and a lot of photos that I truly love. I'm so glad I took the time to actually take them!

And now, since it's 1 am... I need to go to bed. We bought a new coffee maker today, let's hope it works tomorrow when I'm hauling myself out of bed for work. :)

I have returned... From our wonderful 2 week vacation in Pennsylvania. It was so great to be back home, I can't even describe it.

I have tons of photos to edit and upload... I've only done a few so far, and decided on this one for now. :)

Briefly, and in a rambling fashion, a bit about our trip - we left August 21st, and came home September 6th. While we were there, I mostly ate everything in sight, barely slept, and tried to make the most of my time. Ian did a lot of fishing with my dad and brother. I spent a lot of time with friends - eating out at our favorite places, shopping, or just hanging out. My mom and I helped Abby (my sister-in-law) paint the baby's room. (I also took some maternity photos for them.) I drank a lot of Yuengling beer. We spent a day at Knoebel's Grove - the greatest amusement park ever- with my parents, Matt, Abby, and Levi (my nephew). My mom and I drove around aimlessly, me with my camera pointed out the window. We threw Abby the best baby shower ever. We spent nights sitting out back around a fire. I was happy smell farm smells again, and walk through a cornfield. I was excited to see rain again.

I head back to work tomorrow, and then things will go back to normal... but I feel quieter and calmer inside after having been home. I can't wait to get back there for good.

I only checked in on Flickr or the internet in general twice while I was away, so I have a lot of catching up to do... I hope everyone has been well while I've been away. xo

I got my copy of In Her Own Image in the mail today!! Weee! I frantically knifed the box open and took it out immediately. I have to say, it's frickin gorgeous. And not just because I'm in it, or because I helped design it, but because the caliber of female self-portrait artists featured in it is out of this world. It's 316 pages of WONDERFUL.

It is something I am going to cherish forever. I feel SO lucky, and am so thankful to be a part of it. Big huge amounts of love to everyone who put their time and energy into this... It's all been worth it.
