Halnaker Windmill in West Sussex.

Lighting provided by Speedlite 430EX II and a Chinook Helipcopter that was pissing around nearby that we waved over to give us a flash of their spotlight. Two shots merged due to shutter release failure.

Pretty cold this was, I had a hole in my shoe too.. not nice.

Full moon, that's about all can remember from this. Oh, and it was proper cold.

Full moon, almost clear skies. A perfect evening to shoot these beauties.

Not usually into cropping but I felt it worked on this composition. Exposed for the sky first, a relatively short exposure, then I did all the foreground work and merged the two.

This is a composite. One exposure was for the sky, then I waited for the level crossing to activate and a train to go by and exposed that. There was still some color in the sky as it wasn't long after sundown.

About 10 minutes @ f/6.7 ISO 100. There was no wind, which made the clouds look cool.

Got some! - Perseid Meteor Shower - August 2009

Finally got round to uploading my last shot from the Perseid Meteor Shower and it seems I did actually capture two meteors. The only thing is, they're tiny. If you view the image in large size you might be able to spot them, but I doubt it as they're so lame.

To compensate for this, I've made a timelapse video of the drive home from a seperate night shoot I went to recently. It's comprised of 580 exposures taken with my Canon EOS 400D.

Note: The horizontal line towards the bottom of the frame is banding, likely caused by the high ISO used for the shot. This may be a sign of my sensor dying.

Startrails during Perseids Meteor Shower - SEE VIDEO

I thought my idea of stacking during the Perseids meteor shower was a good idea, but it wasn't and, on reflection it's obvious that it's never going to work! This photo is a stack of the 205 images I took over the space of around 2 hours. As you can probably see, no meteors show up.

I decided to make all the images into a time-lapse anyway, there's a few planes that look like meteors but unfortunately this is not the case.
