Spittal Rocks.

Decided to venture out for a sunrise yesterday morning which turned out to be a grey one..

I arrived and there was a nice red sky forming but it was quite windy and a dark sky was approaching which blocked out the red before I got down to the beach...

Anyway, it is a nice part of the beach. There are many different rock formations such as this one which make great foregrounds and I just caught the tide rolling in on this one. Was also lucky enough to get some colour to the North as you can see in the image.

Another one from Cocklawburn last night. I thought it was about time I lowered the tripod and braved the sea which is exactly what I done for this shot. Despite getting the Hitechs soaked through it was a decent trip and was worth it!

Another very simple long exposure. I thought it worked well in mono as it brought out the mistyness caused by the waves.

Here is where I think this outcrop is. Note that it is a lot more noticeable at high tide.

Another one from Sunrise the other day. This was when the sun went behind those clouds but above me they parted which is what the light is on the water.

Clouds that Break.

Life is full of surprises....

I set the alarm for Silly O' Clock yesterday having the intentions of Visiting Berwick Lighthouse, I drove into the town and to the Pier only to see that it was closed off and is still being restored. After a bit of Thinking, I decided to head to Cocklawburn. I still had doubts, as I had only recently been there for sunset and there are a lot of shots from the place from me..

I drove along the coast and dawn was looking very bland. I had doubts about even going now.. But I held out and waited to see what would happen. I got down to the beach and the tide was low, there was too much cloud cover and the temperature was low.

I was really ready to head home but I took a few shots and the clouds broke before sunrise which gave a beautiful red sky and I found a few new rock formations, too. All in all It was a worthwhile trip and I came away with my favourite set of shots to date..
