First time ever exploring the backroads to the rear of Croagh Patrick here in Mayo, I was looking for the old School House but I spotted this ruins of a little cottage and couldn't resist, I had to cross a couple of high barbed wire fences and cross a stream ( about 5m wide and flowing quite fast, the water went up most of the way to the top of my wellies!!) so when I got to the location I felt like I had completed an expedition.... I think that it was worth it, actually I'm delighted with it....

I havent been out with my camera in what has seemed an age, but I made up for it over the last few days... I took this across the fields from where i live, the sky was clear from anything resembling a cloud, its a pity as a dramatic sky would greatly improve this.......

My daughter plays tennis and I was luckly enough to be asked to take some photos to record the days proceedings at the annual Challage cup Between the junior members of the Clontarf Tennis Club and the Connaght Tennis squad. These guys were really taking this seriously and were giving it there all. I got loads of great shots, it is hard to choose the best few. I wanted to get a shot of every player so they everybody gets a photo of themselves playing tennis that they can be proud of. From quite a young age they train hard and put in alot of hours and sweat , so it is important to get something back.....

I managed to get out to Mulranny beach today, there wasn't a sinner on the beach it was glorious. I found these footprints, I have no idea as to what was the bird, but I am guessing a seagull as they were quite large.

I entered this shot into the Mayo Photographic Club monthly competition and won. It is only the second time that I won so I'm delighted. This months theme was Light Painting. I set this up on a table in the garage and took a 30 second exposure in complete darkness lighting the shot from the RHS with a small torch. The background is an old door from a derelict house, I can see that appearing in a few more shots in the near future. ....

Old Mill dereliction

I live quite close to this old mill, I pass this place 10 times a day and had never gone in before, I ended up spending the whole afternoon in there! I found this old pot up stairs, I was afraid to go all the way up as the stairs was almost non-existant and I figured the floor mightn't be much better, it gave me a different perspective.....

Old Mill Motor

I live quite close to this old mill, I pass this place 10 times a day and had never gone in before, I ended up spending the whole afternoon in there! There were loads of old motors / Machines. It was origionally powered by water, as the old water wheel is still there but in pretty bad shape, It was converted to electricty as this motor was retrofitted into the building and powered the mill with a series of pullies. the remains of which are still quite intact.

While in Lapland we had to take a husky ride, 6 of these these poor dogs had to drag me and the clan for 4 hours, I was feeling sorry for them but they were lovin it, all they wanted was more....
half way we took a break, the guides made some hot drinks on a campfire, it took ages for everyone to clear for me to take this shot. we were actually on a frozen lake about the size of Lough Mask, the word amazing doesnt go do it justice.
