Well it's more leaving than hitting really but although stormy days do make life difficult for most people they make life as a landscape photographer rather easy.

I don't think you could get a much better place to camp in decent weather, or a worse one if it wasn't! Apart from being rather lonely camping right on the beach was pretty stunning. My tent could barely stand up to the light winds (and there was nowehere to shelter it) so have to get a new one if I'm to camp here again.

Scale Nab arch on Bempton cliffs, flamborough head. First visit to this area, with some sun these white cliffs light up beautifully. This is a 30s exposure taken about 2 hours after sunrise while the sun was still relatively low.

I quite enjoy naming my shots after songs or song lyrics. This one's by White Lies which is made rather more relevent by the fact they were supporting Coldplay the day after this was taken.

When driving between Lincoln and Edinburgh I often try and take a little detour off the A1 to one of the coastal villages around the borders. Mostly the trips are without any photographic achievement but this time proved fruitful. The waves were rather impressive too occasionally breaking 6-8ft hight!
This a panorama of 2 horizontally taken shots at 10mm just to give it a little wider feel.
