Cyclone (1927) is a hybrid roller coaster, last of about 6 coasters designed by Vernon Keenan still in operation • according to his son, Keenan also designed coasters for World's Fairs in Chicago (1934) and New York (1939), although the Cyclone was his only "hit" • built by Harry C. Baker and Natl. Bridge Co. • built on the site of LaMarcus A. Thompson's Switchback Railway, claimed to be world's first roller coaster • was also site of Loop the Loop, the original looping roller coaster
