Closeup of Punches (for Pollock)

The painterly material from Punches (for Pollock) displayed at action size.

The shapes are generated from computer vision analysis of movement and colors from action film sequences. The shapes are then interpolated using bezier curves to get smooth results.

Images are printed at 60" x 34".

Video paintings made from movement in famous Hollywood car chase scenes (Bullit, French Connection, The Seven Ups, Bourne Identity, Ronin, Gone in 60 Seconds, etc.). Arranged, composed, and painted using custom software written in openFrameworks.
