World Women's March organized for the Global Call for Action where activists were remembering the women suffer around the world in our days.
Solidarity was sent to Bolivian people, to Chiapas (and Mexico) women, Kenyan women, Haiti women, Congo women, Burma women, Iran women... and to many others; we were asking respect to their autonomy, freedom, end of the violence and murders.

Protesters organized during the Global Call for Action day,
for this decentralized edition of the VIII World Social Forum.

A major activity planned for the WSF 2008 in Sao Paulo was the adaptation of the "King Lear" play (Willian Shakespeare), performed in the streets of the city downtown. With creativity and good-humor, hundreds of people, cultural agents, activists, actors and people who were passing on the street at the moment, played at Sao Paulo's downtown
as a big stage. Participants were staging divided into four clans to a scenic confront.

The confrontation was between the Empire, white clothes; the Red Clan,
which defended land reform, family farming and Latin American integration;
the Blue Clan, with the workers' rights flags, welfare and education; and
the Yellow Clan, which defended the right to housing and the right of minorities.

The finalization happened in front of the City Hall, when all the Clans shot colored
water balls, painting the white clan - the Empire.

World Women's March organized for the Global Call for Action. The Call was generated inside the World Social Forum and was launched in June 2007 in Berlin by many international networks. This year, a decentralized version of the WSForum spread its words in protests, marches, lectures, debates, workshops organized around all the globe .

The name ‘Kibera’ is a Nubian word for ‘forest’.

Kibera is roughly 2 Kilometres squared with an estimated population of 1 million people. There are no residential buildings over a single storey. The average home size in Kibera is 3 meters by 3 meters, with an average of five persons per dwelling. Urban services such as water or sanitation are minimal. There is an average of one pit latrine for every 50 to 500 people.

Students of Kibera slum, one of the largest in Africa. Many of Kibera's children rarely attend school regularly, and officials complain that the primary school drop-out rate is around 70 per cent.

*It was really nice to find this children there.
There is no development and no hope,
where you can't find school and children.

There were hundred twenty Ethiopian people from all over Ethiopia at the VII World Social Forum. Their most important issues and debates were on Good Governance its heritage and prospects; gender perspective; trade issues and the role of youth in the African Union. During the opening march, the slogans carried by their groups were:
• Good Governance : facilitate people to Govern!
• No Development No EPAs, Ethiopian farmers say No to GMOs.
• Women – celebrate our achievements !
• Youth, caring the past to the future
• Ethiopian Millennium , Celebrate September 11, 2007.
