We have 4 very large and old beech trees at the edge of our driveway and it is always a delight to watch their development through the seasons. They are particularly pleasing at this time of year when their vibrant green shows up so beautifully in the sunshine. The downside is the enormous number of leaves to clear up in the autumn!

One of a collection of vintage irons that we have, all of which come from Switzerland. This was an early electric iron, as can be seen here. The handle is made of wood. It is not dated, but is thought to be early 1900s. It weighs 3 1/2 kg / 7lbs!!!!

Today the stone chat was more cooperative and perched on the fence and not up high on the electricity wire, making it easier to photograph. The larger photo shows him in context on the fence which divides one of our fields from the neighbouring farm. (Contrast upped as it was such a dreary, grey day.)

I have a complete blank as to what title to give this one. (Alterrnative title suggested by Stu. I like it.)
The end to a rainy, windy, chilly day and too much time spent on my laptop. It was fun, though.
These lovely little flowers grow in my garden, I do not know the name.
Textures used are from kim klassen and Lenabem-Anna and my thanks to them for their generosity.

Looking through my kitchen window on a rainy, windy afternoon, what I saw were moving branches of the potted Acer, creating a blur; reflections on the window; raindrops which turned into bokeh, and buds and young leaves promising new life.

It wasn't until I put this image on the screen that I realised how many of the little so and sos were on this rose bud. They have now been dealt with.
I should perhaps mention that this little plant is a cutting and currently in the greenhouse where the warm and humid atmosphere is ideal for aphids.
