In under the wire tonight - thanks to a leaky toilet that took way too long to fix!

Here's another page for my daughter's Year Four album - which I swear I will finish one of these days!

I am using/modifying the Ali Edwards' template set called "Today You" from Designer Digitals.for this album.

Every time I look at my "To Be Scrapped" list, I try not to be overwhelmed . . . I would swear it multiplies overnight! Today I am working on a page from my "Me: The Abridged Version" album from a Cathy Z class a few years back. I have much of the journaling done; I just need to put the pages together.

After a 3 day vacation (good for me, not so good for LOAD), I needed to get back in the saddle with something quick. Here's another page for my son's Year Five album. (The large gutter down the center is so I can have it printed at shutterfly).

I started with an Ali Edwards template and also used Ali's word art.

LOAD Day 20 - Morning

psu06295 posted a photo:

Another layout for Ali Edward's 31 Things class. I am loving this class so far!

Journaling:

The best part of my morning is nine minutes long. It is those glorious minutes after I’ve hit the snooze button that I cuddle back under my blankets knowing that I don’t have to get up quite yet. Sometimes, let’s be honest, the best part of my morning is 27 minutes long. I purposely set my alarm a half an hour early that I need to, because I love waking up and realizing I can stay in bed longer – even if it’s only nine minutes longer.

Mornings are not my favorite time of day; I am more of a night owl really. However, I am good at mornings. When it is actually time to get out of bed, I get right up and right to business. I don’t need cups of coffee before I am awake and functional . . . I am just instantly awake and alert. I know exactly how long I have to get everything done - out of bed no later than 6:45, dressed and upstairs by 7:15, kids fed, dressed, and out the door by 7:40.

The part of my morning that I like the least (and can slow me down the most) is choosing what clothes to wear. I work at an office with business causal as the dress code. I am currently at a size that makes buying new clothes no fun. So I find myself standing and staring at all the clothes hanging in my closet. It always starts with “What pants have I not worn yet this week?” and then usually transitions into “Did I wear that shirt last week?” and finally “Does this shirt match the pants I picked out?” If I can’t answer those few questions easily, then getting dressed can really be a time suck.

I don’t shower in the morning, mostly because it would mean getting out of bed 45 minutes earlier. My hair is really thick and takes too long to dry. Also, I love long baths – so taking care of that in evening is much better. That way my hair is almost dry by morning and I can just style as needed.

I am not a big breakfast person either, again because I would have to get up earlier to cook something. I keep a couple of boxes of SlimFast breakfast bars a work, so I can eat while I check my email when I first sit down at my desk.

Morning would be so much better if that didn’t mean having to get out of bed. It not so much the time of day I have a problem with, but the interruption to my sleep. Chances are I was up after midnight, so my alarm going off at 6:00 so annoying. Which is why I love to be able to hit that snooze button . . . three times.

I recently got some of my old negatives scanned & digitized. This was a favorite photo of mine from my summers spent working at Girl Scout camp during college. I paired it with the lyrics to one of my favorite camp songs. Since I have so many photos from that time digital now, I think I feel a mini-book in my future.

Of course, I once again used a Cathy Z template.
