Will Claxton posted a photo:

Facebook|500px

Light Leaves - Into The Black:

This is the first in a series of images taken of the Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery
It took me a couple of journeys to get this particular image as I wanted. The first attempt didn't end up got exactly to plan. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to achieve and on this day there was bright sunshine and not a cloud in the sky and this also created harsh shadows across the building's very interesting bowed cladding. But lucky, the second time proved to be much more successful and I managed to get a few of the images I was hoping for. But I think at least one more journey is needed before I'm content!

I've heard many times from photographers such as Julia Anna Gospodarou and Joel Tjintjelaar mention on how it had taken them 30 hours+ to edit one single image and I always thought this was crazy could never even begin to think of what these 30 hours consisted of. Well, 20-or-so hours later that changed! Although I'm sure a good 90% of this was me doing it wrong and then having to correct it. But at least now I have a reasonable idea of what it is like to spend that long editing an image. But I have to say, I really did want it done by the end.

I wanted to say also a big thank you to Joel Tjintjelaar as his online tutorials have helped me no end with the editing of this image. So thank you Joel.

There will be more do come, but judging by how long it took me to edit this. It will be some time until these are finished! So for now I how you enjoy this one.

Thank you to everyone for your views, comments and favorites. They are all so much appreciated!

This was the best name that I could come up with after trying to think of witty title for the whole of yesterday. Having failed that, this is the best out of a bad bunch but it has admittedly grown on me slightly.

The photo was taken some time ago when visiting Berlin with some friends. As we walked past this interesting building (that was admittedly very ordinary apart from each staircase which was what you can see here) I took a few seconds thinking to myself "shall I? Can I be bothered? Ill probably regret it if I dont. I still dont know if I can be bothered......" Anyway im glad I did.

The original isn't a long exposure but I had always inteded to give the image the LE "treatment"

Thanks for stopping by anyway to view this or any of my other images. Its all very much appreciated
My Storm Within

Will Claxton posted a photo:

After a friend recently asked me to create the album art for his latest release and after listening one track in particular over and over it created a specific image in my mind. So i descibed my idea to my friend which he liked and inspired him to come up with the title for the track 'This Peaceful Place'.

The first few images from this series of the same name 'This Peaceful Place' are some of the options I gave to him, but with a view to adding to the set in the future. Especially as I didn't manage to take all the photos I had planned as the heavens opened and in doing so forcing me to except defeat and return home with what I already had.

If anyone is interested in listening to the track or any others by the band, who are called Wilderness Act, it/they can be found here. If you would like to know what they sound like I admittedly dont know my genres that well, but if you listen to bands such as Explosions in the Sky I think you will like these. Instrumental post-rock (I think)

Anyway apologies for writing an essay I hope you like the image and thank you in advance for stopping by and for any favourites and comments (if any) they are all very much appreciated.

Due to the fact that i had had this idea in my mind for quite some time after walking past this building on a daily basis. When I actually came to try and create this image, conditions were unfortunately not ideal as the skies where overcast and flat. So the sky you see on this image has been edited in Photoshop to resemble a long exposure shot (as to fit into my QUADRANTS series) . So even though i am happy with the final result it doesn't feel as good as it does when you create a long exposure photograph in-camera and it comes out exactly how you imagined it.

M E M O R I E S

Will Claxton posted a photo:

Firstly, I'm now on 500px I'm starting to understand the way of things, but I have to admit I'm feeling quite lonely over there due to my lack of contacts. So if anyone fancies following me, you can find me here

Anyway, regarding this image. It's been sitting around for a while now on my hard-drive. But it was only recently that I had decided to finish editing it for (hopefully) a final time. As I have had a few attempts already and all to no avail.

If I'm honest, portrait photography didn't used to interest me that much, (shocking I know) this was until last year where I was given a portraiture assignment to do at college. Ever since I have found myself looking at portrait photography in a completely different way, as there are so many different emotions and so many different stories that can be told from just one single portrait. So I have to say portrait photography has more than won me over, and then some!

Thanks everyone who stops by to view this or any of my other images, It's all really appreciated. Thank You.
