I came into my apartment and could already sense something was wrong. My hallway light was on. I never leave my lights on. And there was clearly a drastic change in temperature, like I had left a window open. That's when I walked into my living room, and heard to men in my bedroom talking.

"There's nothing of value here."
"Namarra must have been warned, he could not have gotten far."

That's when I ran.

[Zach B] posted a photo:

I ran from my apartment and into the city.

I ended up in the Slums. If anyone was following me, surely they would've lost me in all those tight, narrow, streets. I plan on making my way out of the city and into the country as soon as possible.

Part 1 - www.flickr.com/photos/56307748@N02/8516845193/in/photostr...

I actually quite liked the build, but the final images weren't that great. No matter what I tried, they usually ended up with some kind of grained look on them. The lighting isn't that bad, at least IMO. I tried to go for a more, natural light look, with various shadows casting off the buildings.

Attack at the Docks (LCC GC3 Phase 2)

The blood red sun was just breaking the tree line. The morning mist was thick in the forest. Boethius and Marcurio emerged from the Lenfaldi forest worn out. They made their way to the local town inn. The war effort was still in full motion, all though there was considerably less guards and milita men. Down at the docks many ships still sat vacant, waiting for supplies.

"Ey, Marcurio. I say we get a room at the inn." Said Boethius. "Sounds like a great idea. We've got a big night ahead of us." "Indeed." Said Boethius with a laugh and snicker.

Night had fallen over the docks, and most of the workers had gone home. All that remained were a few patrolling guards. Boethius and Marcurio waited silently at the end of the docks for their newly commissioned Orc friends. "Where do you think they are?" Asked Boethius while swiveling his head around. "They're Orcs Boethius. They probably got side tracked raiding a cart, or merchant. They're mystified by shiny objects."

It was only moment later that the sound of armor and weapons clinking in the distance was heard. "That must be them." Said Boethius. A group of 20 or 25 Orcs strolled up to were Boethius and Marcurio waited, led by their chieftain.

They met and went over the battle plan. Burn all ships and supplies in sight, and pillage. Pillaging was be far the Orcs' favorite part of the plan. When the guard switched out was when they waged battle. Half the Orcs ran towards one end of the docks, while Boethius, Marcurio, and the Orc Chieftain, followed by the other half of orcs, assaulted the other end.

Soon smoke would engulf the whole dock, along with the sounds of battle.

Definitely enjoyed building this one. Oh, and there are some extra shots, I just have to edit them. And there's also some hidden gems on the ship ;)

I've actually had the whole thing built for almost 8 months, but I've been slowly re-working and experimenting with certain elements, while destroying others.
The pics are a little off, but I can't be bothered to take anymore right now :P

When a Black Hand rep. was asked about these "glitches" this morning in a press conference he jokingly responded, "Oh, the guys in the technical department are working hard to figure out where exactly a little over a third of our people went. Seems to be a glitch in our system and we should have it worked out within the week. No need to worry."

As Boethius and Marcurio left the bar they both noticed a heightened sense of action, and motivation in the air. There were squads of Lenfald soliders running back and forth. Merchants unloaded their shipments, and then loading weapons and food back into there emptied boats. Even the sea gulls were taking notice, picking off whatever scraps of food that were falling out of crates that they could find.

"What in the name of the King is going on here?" said Marcurio, while swiveling his head around. "I haven't got the faintest clue." Replied Boethius.

A young man was running down the docks in a hurry. Boethius saw this, and upon the man running past the two, Boethius started calling out to him, "Oy! Ey! Boy! Come're." The man approached slowly, but still had a panting on his breath. "Are you part of the Captain's Guard?" Asked the young man. "Do I look like I'm part of the Guard, you nitwit?" Said Boethius with a snarl. "I guess not. I've got important, official, business to do, so what'd you want?"

'What's going on here boy?" Asked Boethius. "Have you not heard? All there nations are at war!" "War?!" Said Marcurio. "Against each other?" "No. Against the Magic Isle."

Both Boethius and Marcurio turned pale, and stiff. The man just looked at the two, then went back to his business. "War?" Said Boethius. "This can't be true." Marcurio just stood in disbelief.

They both headed for the outskirts of the town, to avoid all the chaos. "What do we do?" Asked Marcurio. "We must fight." Said Boethius. "Fight? The two of us versus the whole mainland doesn't sound like very sound odds, Boethius." "We won't be taking on the whole mainland. I just think it's my duty as an Outlaw, and your duty, as a former sorcerer and wizard, to help at least slow down the war machine to help our friends, brothers, family, on the receiving end of this attack." "Fine. What did you have in mind?" "Sabotage, mostly."

"Well we can't do this ourselves Marcurio." Said Boethius, "Got anymore friends willing to help a good cause?" With a quick reply. Marcurio said "No, but I have heard that there's a clan of Orcs not far from here. I'm sure they'd be willing to help." "Probably, but they'll need some kind of payment before they shed blood. Got anything valuable you'd be willing to part with?" "Just a few stones." "That'll do. They're usually suckers for shiny stones."

Boethius and Marcurio had now tracked down the location of the clan's camp. They were working hard into the night, making weapons and arms, they had too heard of the coming war it seemed. Boethius approached the camp.

A tall Orc with a large helmet seemed to be the Chieftain, so Boethius approached him, this was not a good idea. He was instantly hit over the head by one the Chieftain's clan mate, making Boethius drop all his gems. The Orcs searched him, and questioned him.

Finally Boethius got in a word with the Chief. "What do you say I give you those gems, and you fight for me?" "Fight for you? A tiny flesh-ling? Not a chance." "No, no, no. Not for me, with me." Said Boethius. "I'll think about this. Are there more gems to come from this?" Asked the Chieftain. "Maybe, but I can guarantee you that you will be able to kill some guards, and raid some homes. What do you say?" "We'll meet you at the docks tomorrow night. Let'em go you maggots, get back to wok at the forge."

Boethius walked out of the camp, and met up with Marcurio. "How'd it go?" Asked Marcurio. "Let's just say you better hope there's more gems." Said Boethius.

His father, being a trader on the high seas, was robbed and beaten by pirates more than a few times over his career.

Wulfgar always wanted to be part of his father's crew. He'd train in simple combat during his father's long trading seasons, hoping one day he'd be able to show his worth as an arm's man. He'd never get a chance as his father was cautious when it came to letting Wulfgar on his ship.

Wulfgar wasn't just an idiot swinging a sword around though. He also had a thirst for knowledge. Particularly for the super natural and darker sides of history. He was known for his late night, candle light reading, and the occasional drunken street fight.

With his father's health in decline, Wulfgar wants to prove to his father that he too, can be a self made man in a time of emotional and political turmoil.
A Drunken Brawl

[Zach B] posted a photo:

It had been a little over 3 days since Boethius had fled from his friend Marcurio's house in fear of a Lenfald search party. He was instructed to go to the docks to meet up with his friend Marcurio, but when he finally arrived at the docks, he could not find him.

After looking for what seemed like an hour he started to ask around. He finally got an answer from a ship captain, "Ey, I seen 'em. Big fella? Long beard? Funny lookin' staff? Yeah, saw 'em go into that Tavern he did."

Boethius entered the Tavern to the sight of many drunken Garhiems, some merchants, even a few farm animals, but most notably, a group of Lenfald guards. He weaved his way around the bar looking for Marcurio, while avoiding the Guards.

Finally he heard from across the bar someone yelling "Boethius! Boethius over here!" But to his dismay this was only once a bar fight had broken out. Apparently some Garhiems were getting a "look" from two drunken guards, so they did like all drunken Garhiems do, start a fight. They flipped the near by table, throwing two guards to the ground. Another two guards at the bar rushed the Garhiems, but their attempts were pitiful. They were soon on the ground as well.

Boethius and Marcurio then had a drink, before discussing what took so long.

This is for the Winter Celebration contest on the Classic Castle forum, in regards to the Lands of Classic Castle. It's been a while since I was able to build for my LCC character, so I thought I'd start with a little brawl! Enjoy.

The Flight of Escape

Unfortunately the guards did not think my little stunt "was all in good fun", so they locked me up.

They had begun what looked like an expansion on the prison since the last time I had been there. Luckily the guards had missed my handy lockpicks I always keep on me when they searched me.

It was only a matter of time before I was snooping my way out of the place. I finally ended up on the roof. Looking around for a ladder or just a way down, I found some kind of winged contraption.

I figured I'd probably be the fastest way down, so I proceeded to pick-up the contraption, and make my first flight.

This was only a few moments before I guess the guard had noticed my absence. As soon as I began my run a few guards burst on to the roof, shouting and wielding weapons. But it was too late. I was soaring!

Again, This was going to be an entry to the CCCX, Daring Escape Category, but my internet wasn't permitting me get on, so I guess I got shafted :P

I worked my way through the Market stalls looking for anything of value, when suddenly I was hit by a stroke of hunger.

I made my way over to the food stalls. There was many cuts of meat from the rural farmers of the east, fish and whale meat from the north, wild game from the west, and of course the sweetest fruit of the south.

Soon I found myself running running from two guards after I stole an apple. It was all in good fun though.

Again, This was going to be an entry to the CCCX, Daring Escape Category, but my internet wasn't letting me get on, so I guess I got shafted :P

CCCX - Morbash the Slayer

[Zach B] posted a photo:

Not much is know of the origins of Morbash. What is known is that he is believed to have come from one the rural barbarian clans of the plains. Raised to hunt with expert skill by the age of 12-14, these men are to be feared in combat.

Morbash gained his title Slayer, when he was just in his early manhood. He would frequently pillage rich merchant cities, and trade caravans, but leave no one behind to attest to his alleged crimes.

Although Morbash earned his "fame" for his vicious crimes, later in life he set across the lands recovering lost knowledge of past generations, and collected it in a vast library. The library was lost to a fire in the "Great Fires f the Plain's" during the 153rd generation.

It was hard labor for a boy of his age. But he enjoyed working with his father at the stables. They were not very wealthy peasants, but they made a good living. They had just a acquired a new horse named Brunwulf, from a local farm that day.
