Crazy Vermont Color in New England

This is an image along highway 4 just outside Woodstock in Vermont. It was really raining at the time of this image but I liked how the mist was coming in and out of the colorful foliage. But what I really liked was the reds in the foreground that gave the image some punch. I know this is kinda of abstracty but the mix of colors was too much to pass on especially since the lower right tree anchored the rest of the image

This is an image from my New England fall tour this year which took me to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, and Mass. This particular image is from Maine along the coast. One of the better known lighthouses called Pemaquid Lighthouse. I know this place has been shot alot but when you are from the West Coast and you never seen this place it is quite something with lots of possibilities.

This is another image from the Olympics workshop from the previous weekend. The sunset was a bust and the color was minimal for a good twenty minutes after. But on our way out the color started to really shine and some of us went back to the beach to shoot some low light silhouettes of the haystacks.

This was the beginning in a series I was going to post about one of the nicer sunsets I ever saw. The rich reds came from the thick atmosphere at the time. This amazing sunset eventually turned into a huge thunder storm which moved its way through the sunset.
Thanks to everyone out there for looking

Convict Lake Blues

This was from our recent workshop in the Eastern Sierras where we got to see great places like Mono Lake, Convict Lake, and Bodie to just name a few. We had a great bunch of people and we all came away with some great photos.

I just wanted to thank all the partcipants for their overwhelming enthusiam and spirt to show me what this is all about.

This is an image from Convict Lake with no clouds so I needed to find a very strong foreground to pull the viewer in. I had to pull some expert level skipping a few falls into some cold water to get out to this spot. Anyways I hope you enjoy !!!

By the way there are only a few more spots open for our upcoming Central Oregon Workshop which takes place in late July.
I promise to take you to some really obscure spots and hopefully some even better sunsets...

This image is from a recent trip to the Palouse with Zack Schnepf. This image is inspired from Chip Phillips who is the king of Steptoe Butte. He made me realize that patience is the way to get amazing pics here. This image took some time and repeted visits and it still was not nearly as good as Chips but it was fun trying. We had the best weather I have ever had a on a trip. We had thunder showers and great cumulus clouds the whole time. We chased light the whole time we were there looking for spotlight on amazing lime green hills. Anyways thanks Zack for the good times !!!!

Enjoy your day everyone !!!
