Our last day in Newport was the first sunny one...But we finally got to get some awesome sunset pictures :) I'll probably be stuck on these for a while...

I know I've been MIA for a while, but I PROMISE I'm working on getting through everyone's streams in the next couple weeks...

Managed to catch some of the solar eclipse over here on Sunday. We could look at the sun very nicely with the pinhole on the lensbaby, but we couldn't get very close. So I swapped to our long lens, and got some closer shots....Unfortunately I couldn't look directly at the sun, so composition was a challenge. I think this turned out pretty ok, and the clouds are cool :)

H is for Hiding. The sun was really cool-looking behind the clouds, but I didn't get the camera out until just before it disappeared. It was early, I was still waking up... :)

A brief moment of blue skies, before the dark clouds came in again. I was out a little later in the morning and it was super windy, then started raining this really cold rain...So nice spring could visit ;)

"Double Exposure"
It was freezing cold outside...but I managed to grab this shot. I actually had a few to choose from for today, but I wanted to try this specifically. The first layer is out-of-focus water, the second is the clouds. I liked the texture a lot. I think the only think I would change is if I could get the water on a sunny day so that I shimmered more.

Driving across I-90 back to the eastside after a day at the Seattle Art Museum. We had a great time, and our son took 2 rolls of pictures there! We developed the color one at the 1-hour so he could see...I was fun to watch him experience that.

So, I've been struggling with this for months. I figured putting it on the list would force me to really work at it. I have some more sensory ideas, but it's cold out, and I don't want to roam the streets at night. I may revisit this in a warmer month. This is more of a physical representation, I guess. I was getting the clouds, the atmosphere, low on the foothills...

We went south to watch my niece cheer for a pee-wee football game. I got some cute pictures of her, but this balloon floating away caught my attention. I now have 3 colors - Blue, Yellow, and Red. I hope to get a rainbow of flyaway balloons :)
