And.. done! I wanted to go out and get some shots of the fireworks, but it was raining so we decided to stay in. I went for the only logical alternative, I shaved my head and put some black and white makeup on. My attempts to look evil failed miserably, so I decided to do something silly instead.

The background photo (with the roses) was taken by me in August. My wife was inspired by me and put some makeup on as well (she looked like "the cat guy" in Kiss). Our son probably thought we both were crazy, mom and dad usually don't do things like that! :-)

About the one-year project then. I'm glad it's finally over. I've learned a lot and I've never taken so many photos ever before in my life. It's a tough ride, but I recommend it anyway, because if there's something you want to get better at, you need to practice doing it. A lot. And a project like this could help you discipline yourself.

Well.. it's been fun! Thanks to everybody who kept commenting on my photos, I appreciate every favourite and every comment I get.

Maybe I will do a 365 again some day. Or maybe not. This year I'll be focusing on family, music, finding a job and a new house. And I'm thinking about writing a book..

So close to the end of the year now. Two more photos to upload, and then I'm done with the "366 project". It feels.. good. Damn good.

I worked with this photo mainly in Camera Raw, adding a lot of brightness and turned up the exposure knob. Less saturation (-39) and more vibrance (+53). And a subtle hint of blue in the shadows and yellow in the highlights.

I hope I can get a decent fireworks shot tomorrow. That would be nice to end everything with. If I don't upload anything more in 2012, have a great New Years Eve!

Nailed it! We crossed the same bridge a few days earlier, and the sun was shining very dramatically through the smoke coming from these two chimneys. I thought to myself "damn, if only I had been prepared, it could've been a really good shot"..

And a few days later I got a second chance (we were going to a shopping mall outside Uddevalla called "Torp"). This is taken through the window of a moving bus. The chimneys belong to either the SAAB or Volvo factory, I´m not sure (does SAAB even exist anymore, who knows?).

Christmas.

I like this photo, it's simple and appealing. It displays what I like most about the holidays. It's about eating and drinking well (if you haven't tasted julmust you really missed something). And yeah, of course the spirit of the kids is infectious. But for selfish reasons, eating (both food and candy) and drinking (preferably "must" or beer) is the best part of Christmas for me.

Only one to go. Yesterday wasn't a good day to go out and play. There's ice on the ground covered with water (can't get more slippery than that) and the water is too cold..

The bathroom door late at night (well.. late evening, bedtime for the kids). I thought it would look cool to have it slightly open and use a long exposure time (6 sec). It does. Look pretty cool.

The snow is melting away. At least we had some over christmas.. and maybe there will be more in January?

I took this photo while walking to the store to buy some fruit. The store was closed. This photo depicts well how I felt that day.

The week before christmas I spent a few hours every day in the library, studying for an exam. If I don't make it, I'll have to wait another year for the next opportunity..

This is part of a model that depicts what Vänersborg could've looked like 100 years ago.

On the 22nd I took the test. I think (hope) it went pretty well. At least well enough to pass the class. I will know for sure in January.

Note: I passed the test!

Well, apparently the world is going to end. Again.

So of course there's a "Doomsday party" where you're asked to "party like there's no tomorrow".

I like these three posters together. To the left is Totta Näslund (a famous swedish artist), then there's the Doomsday Party and to the far right a party with models that doesn't have very much clothes on. This last event will occur the day after the world ended.

So, what am I going to on friday? I don't know.. study for my exam on saturday. Probably change a diaper or two.

And the world goes on..

Blue hour! I'm usually not out taking photos at this time, but I can see why people like to photograph buildings after sunset. The blue sky is a great contrast to the warm light coming from the street and the windows.

For a while, I have thought about getting out and photograph this flagpole decorated with lights. So I decided I should get it over with! I brought the tripod and took four photos. It was snowing/raining so I had to wipe the lens before every new shot.

Julia is carrying her little brother while they were out making a snowman. I watched from inside because Alva (the oldest kid) didn't want to go out.

I have photographed this building before. It's an old water tower that isn't in use any more. I was on my way from a meeting and this object was pretty much the only option I had. The light wasn't very interesting so to get rid of the bleak colours I did the classic thing.. made it black and white.

It's impossible to get good shots outside now. Most of the snow has melted away. So depressing :-(
But I'm hoping more will come soon!

I used a spinning toy with lamps in different colours. It belongs to one of the kids, Julia I think. Since the bathroom is the only place in our apartment that I can seal of from outside light, I went in there with my tripod and sat down on the edge of the bathtub.

I didn't do much in Photoshop, except I added a very strong vignette and added contrast to bring out the face a little bit more.
