Moonrise over San Francisco

The full moon will be in May 24 Friday. I hope the weather will play well with the moon ;). Please no fog or overcast. This was the moonrise shot from last month. Are you ready to watch the moonlight?

A new perspective to see the moonlight in Fort Baker. It was so bright to see with the water reflection. It reminds me one of the famous Chinese Poetry:

李白
床前明月光，疑是地上霜。
举头望明月，低头思故乡。
注释：这是一首脍炙人口的游子思乡名诗。静静的夜晚，床前被明月的光辉照得一片洁白，几乎使人以为是地上铺了一层霜。仰头看看明月，不由得低头深深怀念遥远的家乡。

The bay lights at night in pops out from the bay :). The view at Twin Peaks to see it is totally different compares before. It brings the magic to the city!

Full Moon with Bay Lights

When the weather condition was right that you may see the red or orange moonrise :). However, I wasn't lucky enough to see the red moonrise last night from Fort Baker instead to see the orange moonrise :).. Well, you may see there was some layers or clouds from the east side over the bay bridge. I took couple shots when the moonrise just showed up over the horizon in the sky when it was behind the clouds. This shot is the best one I can share it with you. Full round moon, 99% :) in orange. However my angle of view wasn't perfect as plan :) I will try it again next month if I am lucky with clear sky.

Norther America/San Francisco did not see the Penumbral Eclipse last night instead of this big round full orange moon :)

First time to see the bay light + moonlight in here :)..It was lucky to see it in clear sky this time. No clouds/fog. The view was amazing to see in person. You may see the other people taken their moonlight photos by iphone. One of my lucky snapshot of the night!

The first time come here to practice the city night colors shoot. Not sure what to do or how to shoot i this point of view. I will definitely come back here to practice more when ever I have time in the weekend.

The old classic Ferry building meets the new bay light in a single shot :) I wish there was some clouds but not easy to see in here. May be in the morning time. One of my lucky snapshot of the day.

A wide angle classic view of the bay bridge with the new LED lights in Embarcadero San Francisco. I was lucky to see some texture in the sky also a little star too :) The water water reflect is nice to see at night in here. Check it out if you haven't been in here at night. I wish they will keep the light on till the morning. It will look better with morning blue or sunrise red colors IMO. They did keep it on till the morning before they official turn it on last month.

Good morning friends!
Morning blue with some clouds over the city with view from Treasure Island. It was during the morning glowing moment. The sky was blue and the clouds reflect the city light. These clouds look like the city was in fire.. well, it is how the camera records the light with a reverse filter. There is no fire in the city :)

The blue does bring in the good mood in the morning and the colorful scenery. Do you like the city by the bay? There always something new to see everyday in the morning and night. One of my lucky snapshot of the day!

Chase the moonlight at Treasure Island in a windy morning. It wasn't easy to click this lucky snapshot :). Hard to stable the tripod in such condition. I will try it again tomorrow if the weather condition is right and hope for the best for the moonset :)

They keep the bay light on till the morning last week. I was so lucky in here to take the moonlight shot over the bay. The water reflection of the city light and the bay were cool to see :). One of my lucky snapshot of the day!

The Grand Lighting Ceremony. You may see many people were on the Embarcadero to watch the LED lights on the bay bridge and traffic :). It was raining at that time when I took this picture.

Morning Blue

The morning blue and calmness to see this bridge :) It is kinda tricky to take the long exposure shot with water and clouds. If the exposure time takes too long that you may not see the clouds movement but you will see the stillness water. One way the other :). One of my lucky snapshot in the morning :) I will come here to practice more when they have the the LED lights on in tomorrow 8:30pm. March 5th. The artistic patterns will light the bridge from dusk till 2am every night for 2 years.

A new day has come!
It was an interesting sunrise moment in the San Francisco bay. These textures make the sky dramatic and moody :). I was very lucky to capture the sun ray above the bay bridge.

It is one of my favorite spot to watch the moonlight in with the bay bridge. Do you notice when you see the full moon that there almost low tide? You may see these post stand out of the water.

The LED lights were on till the morning with low fog :) You may still see how shinning of these lights seeing from Fort Baker. It is the new landmark in the city with these LED lights also with these log fog adds more drama and interesting to see IMO. I was very happy to be in here for this lucky snapshot to capture such moment.

They turn on the LED light for testing tonight with the moody clouds and the moonlight :) Also with the embarcadero Center red and gold light on top of their building for the 49ers colors theme!!! Go niners!!!

The normal city lights view in San Francisco with a moon in the sky. There is a coit tower and the bay bridge in the frame. However,there still lots power lines in the frame :) It is the classic view :)

Bay Bridge LED Lights

It was a Bay Bridge LED light testing run. The view was from Russian hill to see this bridge in different perspective which it is a new spot for me to take the city photos. I can't wait to see they go live of these LED lights in March 5 2013.
