My second shot at free senior portraits, with Tambanetta, a graduating senior who has been on her own since she was 14, has been successful in high school and will be entering a nursing school program this fall. :)

Latarriana is graduating in less than a month, and wasn't able to afford senior pictures. One of her teachers had her call me, and I got to take some shots. Good for her, because I'm not good enough to charge anything. :) Good for me, because I had a blast!!! :)

The bridge in the background is an iconic spot in our city, so we went there for some shots. I wish it weren't so heavy in the background, but I'm not sure how I could minimize it a bit now that the shoot is over... I tried some dodging to lighten it, but it turned sort of nuclear; I tried removing it, but with her hair and the bridge being close in color I wasn't able to mask it well in photoshop. Suggestions? :)

Latarriana is graduating in a month. One of her teachers, a friend of mine, contacted me about taking a senior picture for her as her family REALLY struggles financially. She has gotten good grades while working two jobs throughout high school, playing on the basketball team, and taking lots of care of her five younger siblings. She will be starting junior college in the fall. I think she has received lots of support and encouragement from her high school teachers; they are understandably proud of her!

One of my daughter's friends couldn't afford to have senior pictures -- her family REALLY struggles. (Don't worry, professionals, I'm not taking anybody's business. She is a month from graduation and really wouldn't otherwise have pictures.)
I said, "Hey, I can take your picture!" and I can just get some wallet sized prints for her to hand out and a couple of 5X7's for her parents.
I said, "find some pictures on the internet so I know what kind of pictures you like." She showed me some with pretty smooth skin, not quite glamour shots, but sort of glowing shots, not the "real" look that I am accustomed to.
So, I am practicing creating that look with some shots I have.

Suggestions please?
