Get Pushed - Round 32

I was challenged by Kaisa Q (www.flickr.com/photos/61686155@N05/) to "Find the light in a person"; photograph a person that lightens the day, or photograph a street scene with people and incorporate your skill of finding the perfect light on the shot.
I was excited for this challenge because I have been wanting to try street photography for a while and this got me out there trying it. I chose this image because i think it has good lighting to it but I also tried playing with the theme of light beyond just that from the sun. The joy in the child's face and the interest of the father in his child are another form of "light" in the photo, as are the blossoms and the fresh grass. There are a lot of overlapping themes and symbols here; joy, spring, childhood, families, tree, love, etc. etc. And I especially like how the father and the son are wearing similar clothes. This was taken on a Sunday morning in downtown Portland, the cherry blossoms along the waterfront park are beautiful this time of year. I did not know this family and I felt a little weird taking their picture, almost like I was intruding on a private moment, but I couldn't pass it up.
