Pointing to the shift in mood from the cheerful, optimistic sounds of Bing Crosby and Doris Day in the 1940's and 50's to the sheer volume of anger, depression and general negativity heard in much of the music being made today, acoustic Folk Singer/Songwriter and Mental Health Advocate, Heather McCready, raises thoughtful questions about this generation's musical tone and it's reflection upon our society's mental health. With a new CD scheduled for release this fall (and a sneak peak single coming in July), Heather McCready, vows she'll contribute only "musically nutritious" songs and hopes other artists will be encouraged to do the same.
