Genoa, Italy. It was a sunny day around the city of Genoa. The bad weather had preferred to remain beyond the borders. I decided to go to the Monument of Quarto dei Mille for taking some photo, from that place I could enjoy the sunset in its majestic beauty. It was about 5:00 pm when the sun began to set towards the west, the sunrays were very direct and there was an intense sunlight, it was not the right time to photograph. But the sky darkened suddenly, clouds coming from the south-east headed toward the coast, the weather changed.

From an immense bank of clouds was born a thin waterspout, until it became something powerful. Everything was changing in two minutes, crazy. The waterspout became increasingly large and the power of the wind was starting to feel even on the beach. I positioned the tripod on the rocks, something unique and unrepeatable was happening before my eyes. After a while the darkness would have fallen on the coast of Genoa. The clouds had brought with him a special power supply, a lightning storm on the horizon became like the cherry on the cake. I would just point and shoot. Everything was so perfect, just so perfect.
Genova, Italy. It was the first day of September, the weather had changed quickly in those days, from weeks when the sun gave off its warm rays of light from dawn to dusk to sudden rainy and windy days. In the afternoon I had gone out for jogging and arrived in Boccadasse I realized white storm clouds to the east heading toward Genoa. Already I could see beyond the hills a few lightning bolt on the blanket that looked like whipped cream. I stopped to admire that show. The sunset was never so early in the evening, covered with a mantle of clouds above the Apennines.

It got dark and the night came. Around midnight the sky began to shine in front of Quinto al Mare, thunderbolt shone like a pyrotechnic lights show, exactly in the middle of the gulf. It reminded me about last autumn where I had gone down to the beach, to photograph on the shoreline lightning storm off the coast of Portofino's promontory. Meanwhile, the lightning show was going on in front of the Italian Naval League beach, not so good to photograph offshore sea but a nice window to include rocks or other subjects of the sea in the picture. I started shooting around 02:00 am, the coastline was becoming a scenery of magnificence, a glitz of inexhaustible lights .. no other show could match with that was happening before my eyes.

It reminded me about last autumn where I had gone down to the beach, photographing on the shore a lightning storm off the coast of Portofino's promontory.
