When they first put in this sculpture, skate boarders would use it as a ramp. The picket fence that was originally erected is being replaced by a garden at the base.

Along the Halifax Harbourwalk

"Halifax Harbourwalk is a 3-km boardwalk popular amongst tourists and locals alike. Many mid-sized ships dock here at one of the many wharfs. The harbourwalk is home to a Metro Transit ferry terminal, hundreds of stores, Historic Properties, a handful of office buildings, the Casino Nova Scotia, and several public squares where buskers perform."

This area was actually saved from developers who wanted to tear down the historic buildings. A group was created to preserve the buildings and redevelop the waterfront for all Haligonians. This has since become one of the most popular areas in the downtown area.

Theodore Tugboat is a popular children's series shown around the world(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Tugboat). I first saw it while living in the States. I was channel surfing and then stopped at the show when I recognized the Halifax Harbour and waterfront :)

A fullscale replica of Theordore now motors throught the Harbour.
