Hey,

it's been a while since my last upload again :D

So today I drove home from work and found this tree covered in mist. So at home I grabbed my camera stuff and cycled to this spot. I found it is perfect for my monotonous series and so I want to continue the series with this shot :)

monotonous part one

Right after the sunrise I captured this one with a 10 stop ND filter. I think this is a good start for my new little series called "monotonous". It's about captureing water and landscapes with very slow shutter speeds and in b/w for a monotonous look.

Again a jetty shot.. I know it's getting boring.. But I had to re-capture this scene with some more light. Jupp, and this morning the light was awesome.. I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't any fog .. but it was anyway worth the effort..
The sun was said to rise at exactly 7:13.. and exactly at 7:13, when the sun was up, it disappeared and everything was cloudy...no sun at all..

watching shooting stars and the sunrise

Hey there,

I think I finally went crazy.. getting up at 4 o'clock is kinda crazy, somehow. My girlfriend was that friendly and came with me :)
So we drove about 30 km to the Wörthsee, near Munich. We've already been there at about 4:40 p.m. so we had to wait. We grabbed our stuff and sat down at the end of the jetty and watched to the horizon... suddenly we've noticed some shooting stars and watched that spectacle..

Later I build up the tripod and adjusted my camera, took the best composition, focal length etc... then the twilight was there... it was awesome, this glowing horizon and you just knew that the sun will rise soon. That night/morning was clear as f*** .. amazing :)

Although it was bitter cold but we've been amazed.

For those of you, that wonder why I didn't upload a capture of the actual sunrise.. I dunno, but the water isn't that beautiful and the atmosphere that calm in the sunrise capture... maybe I'll edit it some time and give it a chance... but for the moment I'll leave it like that :)

Hey there,

Matthias Kleine inspired me to do this shot I created here.. I've seen a video how to do this and so I had to spend some money and time into this "project". After hours of crafting, broken glasses and trial and error for the perfect light I finally managed to creat this shot..
I've fixed the glass on the plate with silicon.. and when I started the last splash and lifted the plate the glass just got lose and fell down :D...
total result: Two broken glasses, a lot of whine-sirup mixture on the floor and slashed fingers.. uhm and maybe a nice photo !

I think I found a new way of photography I want to get into... probably there will be some more uploads in the next weeks.. I just love landscape photography, but I can't (!!!!) find new spots... -.-

So as always I really hope you like this shot :)

twilight boathouse

I removed the last version of this capture because I did some filthy work... this is totally re-edited and looks much better in my opinion.

This photo has been taken in Bavaria at the Ammersees north shore. The sun was setting on the right side of the capture and disappeared very quickly beneath some trees.. bad luck for me, because it would have been better if the sun was more southern ..

This composition with the jetty in the front is meant to be a guideline for your eyes and to lead them right into the image.
I've used the exposure blending method with two captures - one dark for the sky and one bright for the foreground - to creat this capture and worked with luminance masks and saturation masks.

Hey,

uff...this took me some effort to capture. I had to prepare myself a lot for this shot. I've been there on an afternoon to check the spot out, where to place the tripod and stuff..
Then I was realllly lucky it was sunny but it was said to rain in the evening but I didn't mind.. so I build up my setup and took always two shots. The clouds came above my head and almost darkened the sun before I was able to press the release two time for this capture. It started raining and the light was gone...
Editing this thing took three days. :D I found another workflow...luminance masks, saturation masks, sharpening with masks and stuff..
Michael Breitung was very helpfull with his tutorials :)

Good morning!
I've been planning this shot for about 1,5 months and waited for my gear to arrive and the weather to be perfect. I've ordered the Cokin Z Pro Filter System with some Graduated Filters and a quick-action coupling for my tripod(sick of screwing the camera on the ballhead..)
I want to do some serious landscape and finally use everything I've bought.

About this capture:
I got up at 4:55 p.m. and drove with my scooter about 15 kilometers to this spot. The sun was very quick so I had to decide fast which composition would be right, which filters I would use and aperture and stuff. All had to go very fast.
I'm so glad that the sun showed up through the clouds. After 10 captures(each about 10 sec and some stops between them) the sunrise was completed and the light boring. I tell you, I was so glad that I had these captures on my card..
I think next time I'll get up earlier to have more time.

This is a lucky one, I tell you.
In the evening in venice there are often people sitting on the banks and just relaxing. But this day it was empty and I had the perfect chance to capture it. The composition of this was kind of easy..Using the banks as guiding lines into the image :)
I have to admit that I've mirrored this capture, because I want to guide your looks and it doesn't work quite well when the banks are on the right side...strange, I know.

Hey!

Finally I can do some serious landscapes ! I was really looking forward to this, so today I grabbed my bike again and rode some kilometers to a spot I've seen on my standard tour when I go mountainbiking. I really hoped that there would be less light because I'm not having any ND filters yet for longer shutterspeed. I had to walk through the forest and muddy paths, over slippy stones and stuff.. Finally I arrived and searched for the right composition :)
What do you thing about the image quality? In full res. it's kinda odd because of the color adjustment layers in PS. I ask because I've decided to buy this lens instead of the 16-35mm f4 VR. Dunno if I've done a mistake, but I for one am happy with it! Let me know what you think!

this is a memory of autumn 2011. I just loved this time with all this fog above the ground in the forests...Just walking around and watching the leafs turning to brown/golden tones..hearing the clam of the forest.

saw this scenery a few days ago when I was cycling to work and thought it could be a nice capture. So today I decided to take my camera with me and take some photos of it before I go to work. I'm really happy with this result :) I think using the morning or evening sun for photography is really important to spice up your image and give it a special emotion.

mixed colors

Hey there,

oh my god, I've been really lazy, too lazy to take photos!!! ~.~
But I'm going to start taking more and more photos, especially some strobist stuff, and if spring shows up it's kind site, I'll go out take some shot's out there :)

This capture took me about 2-3 hours(I forgot the time..) Most of the time I've tested the light to get as less shadows and details of the background as possible..

The next capture will be RGB-Color space-like :) So, stay tuned!
