Fraumünster Church (Women's Minster), Zurich is built on the remains of a former abbey for aristocratical women which was founded in 853 by Louis the German.
The church building today serves as the parish church for one of the city's 34 reformed parishes. Münsterhof, the town square in front of Fraumünster, is named after the former abbey.
The Rocks at Rhine Falls

PrK |photography posted a photo:

Rhine Falls, located in Neuhausen, Switzerland, is Europe's largest waterfall, falling from a height of approximately 75 feet and 492 feet at its widest point.

Tectonic shift and glacial activity that occurred thousands of years ago formed the waterfall on the Rhine River.

The average flow rate amounts in summer 700 cubic metre per second. Apart from the Dettifoss fall in Iceland, which is double in height, but only have the half lot of water, the Rhine Fall is the biggest waterfall in Europe.

And in the middle of it all stands a mighty rock that has braved the elements for thousands of years. A cruise of the Rhine Falls lets you reach the rock, where you can experience the nature spectacle up close.

Thundering sound of the flow of water, breezy wind that carried the water droplets along with it and the scenic flow of water along the rocks - Rhine is a natural beauty to see and admire.
Zurich is beautiful when its clear sky. Fraumünster adds a unique flavor along the guild houses.

10 steps to Uetliberg Kulm. At 869 m from Sea level, offering a spectacular view of Zurich, Zurich lake and the Alps (on a clear day) is Uetliberg.

The Uetliberg is Zurich’s own little mountain, marking the end of the Albis mountain chain on the western side of Lake Zurich.

A 90 min treck from Albisgüetli, takes us to through a series of harpin bend steep paths to a chain of stairs to climb upto this view point. Climb 31 more meters on the observation tower to view a 360 panorama around. If the day is blessed with clear weather and sky - you will be entertained by the alps in the horizon.

Its indeed an experience to climb the spiral steps which is very narrow and obviously allows one way traffic at the max.

Get out of Clarke Quay and cross the subway to get a glimpse of this colorful building. The MICA building, with all of its 911 windows painted in a myriad of colours like green, red, yellow and blue, is sure to catch your eye as you explore the Civic District trail.

The MICA Building, home to the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA), is a colonial landmark located at the junction of River Valley Road and Hill Street. It was officially opened in 1934 and was the largest government building in Singapore during the 1930s. It used to house the Hill Street Police Station and Barracks and is thus now also known as the Old Hill Street Police Station.

It is a six-storey building covering a total floor area of 25,000 sq m with two internal courtyards. The building was built in a typical neo-classical style that characterised many public buildings in England during the 1930s. The building is structured into long thin blocks that surround two internal courtyards. Outwards, the view from each room faces the streets and inwards, the courtyards. Its windows are now painted in shades of rainbow colours.

A mascot that best identifies Singapore or rather justifies the name Singapura, Merlion statue (1 of 5 recognized in Singapore) adds a distinctive view to the CBD. Left the distortions to the edges intentionally.

The merlion— a mythical creature with the body of a fish and the head of a lion— occurs in a number of different artistic traditions. Lions with fishtails can be found on Indian murals at Ajanta and Mathura, and on Etruscan coins of the Hellenistic period. Merlions, or ‘heraldic sea- lions’, are an established element of Western heraldry, and have been used on the coat of arms of the cities of Portsmouth and Great Yarmouth in UK.

Sechseläuten - spring festival - Zurich

Winter is officially chased out of Zurich with the traditional spring festival - Sechseläuten.

26 Zurich guilds parade through the city center along Bahnhofstrasse and Limmatquai towards Bellevue, where the festival climaxes at exactly 18:00 when a snowman-like figure called Böögg is burned. When the Böögg’s head finally explodes the season of fog and cold feet is officially over. A fast explosion of his head promises a warm and sunny summer. (Indeed it was a fast explosion this time).

Had an opportunity to roam around on my first day in Zurich as it happened to be a bank holiday. After witnessing my first tram ride, got to paradeplatz and witnessed the parade marching along various strasse and finally the snowman bonfire at Bellevue. Thousands of people flourished along the bellevue end of the Zurich lake.

Adding to the architectural marvels around Marina Bay is the Helix Bridge - a spiral DNA like structure - a pedestrian cum viewing bridge that connects Marina Center with Marina South.

Canopies (made of fritted-glass and perforated steel mesh) are incorporated along parts of the inner spiral to provide shade for pedestrians. The bridge has four viewing platforms sited at strategic locations which provide stunning views of the Singapore skyline.

Pairs of coloured letters c and g, as well as a and t on the bridge which are lit up at night in red and green represent cytosine, guanine, adenine and thymine, the four bases of DNA.

It is along side the Bayfront Bridge that connects to Marina Bay Sands.

Lower Peirce Reservoir

This was my attempt #2 in reaching this reservoir as heavy rain ruined my first attempt (just reached there after a long walk and there was rain for another 3 hours thereafter).

The hovering clouds and setting sun along with the reflection on a peaceful evening was so relishing. Lower peirce reservoir is the source of Singapore's longest river - Kallang river. It was commission in 1912. Along with MacRitchie Reservoir, Upper Peirce Reservoir and Upper Seletar Reservoir, this forms the main pool of nature reserves in Singapore. Along the reservoir is the 900m boardwalk (Lower peirce reservoir trail) that takes visitors through a mature secondary forest.

I got to know on this location from a wonderful shot of me_ram (www.flickr.com/photos/me_ram/6834141595/in/photostream).
