I have been spending too much time behind my computer lately, because I wanted to finish my website.
I had to force myself to go out and do something relaxing. I was so glad fall started and I was looking for a nice subject... Which I found actualy ;-)

Finally I finish it! I already started to build it last year but then it just stayed on my computer - unfinished. So last month I decided to pick it up again and now I'm so glad I got it online. Please let me know what you think. It would be awesome if you leave a comment in the Guestbook (you will find it in the menu below).

About the image:
It is also part of my website; Every now and then I will upload a new 'Theme Gallery' (in the EXTRAS-menu). I started with a selection of the Proboscis Monkeys, which I took in Borneo two years ago. I just love these monkeys and thought they needed some extra attention ;-)
This juvenile was hanging in a tree of the mangroves and somehow I like the image a lot.

After some heavy rainfall, suddenly the sun started to shine very bright. I just loved the hard light falling on this awesome Red Kite.

Just can't believe there is a possibility (even though it's very very small) to see these tigers in the wild. I am not sure anymore if I am ready for that... ;-)

As long as I can remember, I just love the squirrel monkey. When they sit down for a moment you really have to react very quick to take their picture because these hyperactive little rascals are so hard to catch. After seeing the photos - when you have some time to take a good look - I realized it's the unbelievable cuteness and their gorgeous yellow coat that makes me love these beauties...

The Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) is typically found in the northern circumpolar region, where it makes its summer home north of latitude 60 degrees north. However, it is a particularly nomadic bird, and because population fluctuations in its prey species can force it to relocate, it has been known to breed at more southerly latitudes.

This species of owl nests on the ground, building a scrape on top of a mound or boulder. A site with good visibility, ready access to hunting areas, and a lack of snow is chosen. Gravel bars and abandoned eagle nests may be used.

Last saturday Laura and I went to a small animal park 'De Wissel' together with hvhe1 and Jaydot. It is such a nice intimate park with all kind of small animals. We were so lucky because it was a bright and sunny day after a grey period.

After the visit we went to Hennie's home where we had so much laughter and a delicious meal!! Thanks a lot Hennie (& Hans) and Joyce, I had a great time!

Some unexpected shocking news reached us near the end of our holiday; we received an e-mail that Laura's best friend suddenly passed away, only 39 years old and leaving a 7 year old son and girlfriend behind.
We had to arrange everything to fly back to Holland as quick as possible for getting there at time to say a last goodbye. After 46 hours of travelling we managed to get home at last. A jetlag and another 2 days of rush makes it all so dazzling and almost unreal...

Today is the first day we could take some rest and my plans were to watch and select the pictures I took on holiday. But now I realise bit by bit what happened and I need to give way to my emotions first before I dive into the holiday again.
My thoughts are with Andrea & Tijn and I wish them all the strength in this awful period. A joyful and creative friend will be missed.

Next weekend we're going on holiday, visiting Thailand and Malaysia - including Borneo. Our main goal is doing some trekking through the jungle and since there are a lot of flowers and creepy crawls I desperately needed a macro lens.
So yesterday I bought the well reviewed Canon EFS 60mm Macro - which is on sale now ;-) I couldn't wait for the results, so I went out to take some test shots.
Looking at the results, I think this is an awesome lens (still have to improve my macro techniques) with a great price/quality ratio.

I still have to do a lot of preparations before I go, so I won't be able to visit your stream too much unfortunately... sorry for that.

The first time when I saw a mouflon in the wild - some years ago in the dutch national park De Hoge Veluwe - I was really impressed by this wild sheep. Unfortunately they where too far away to take a good shot.
A few weeks ago we visited a german wild park and there I was able to take a closer look at these gorgeous ancient looking animals.

The Mouflon (Ovis Gmelini) is a species of wild sheep and as such is one of the Caprinae or “goat antelopes”. It is thought to be one of the two ancestors for all modern domestic sheep breeds. It is red-brown with a dark back-stripe, light colored saddle patch and underparts. The males are horned and the females are horned or polled.

Yesterday, Bully had his first Flickr meet-up with the dogs from Janneke and Saskia. It was just too good to see all these dogs in real life! Unfortunately it was a wet and grey day that made it impossible to take a descent shot. This shot was the best I could do ;-)
