the week of his coronation was upon him, and he had stood in the waiting room off the east wing for so long that cobwebs had gathered in the corners of the room and the fruit in the bowl on the table had gone soft.

so, i've started a 52 weeks?

i have three more photos in this series that i shot right after this featuring my boyfriend zachary and two of my best friends, annie and lana! when i will get to edit them, i have no idea.

p.s. that crown is from when i won prom king in high school. :)

when she is away from the water, her mind tends to roll like the current back to the waves and the sand and the sun on her face.

a peaceful time where infinity is possible, time does not pass, and she can be one with nature.

it is moments like these that she realizes how wonderful the world is.

Jennifer was such a joy to photograph! She really has a fantastic outlook and demeanor. We talked before with my professor/mentor/advisor Dr. Jane Archer one evening about what we wanted some of the conceptual photos to become, and after learning of Jennifer's love for the water/sun/ocean, I knew I wanted to try this photo. I've still got some things to learn in regards to super imposing other images onto a main one, but I do like this. :)

he has sat there for an hour. the only noise comes from the revolving ceiling fan above and the steady beat of his own heart in his ears and his wrists.

listening to each thump, he begins counting and remembering another sound - another's heartbeat - against his ear in this very bed.

he had memorized that sound, or so he thought.

in the fading dusk of the bedroom, that thump, that rhythm escapes him, the familiar beat of a heart that had, only hours before, ceased to beat and ceased to live.

now, alone in his room for the first time in months, he closes his eyes and rests.

trying to remember.

New series. I'm going to explore the fragility of life and how quickly it can be taken from us and how it affects different people. this originally dealt with HIV/AIDS, but it, as usually happens, turned into something else. :)

I've been in a huge rut and actually had a bit of a breakdown, but after two successful self-portraits today, I'm feeling much better!

only in the sun does she find herself able to smile. it is the light that heals the darkness, the pain, the suffering, and on a whim, she reaches out and kisses it. lightly at first, and then engulfing it until she too becomes light.

as the clouds settled overhead, a roaring sound filled his ears. though of unknown origin, he had accepted this final resolution of the world, the failure of blues and greens conglomerating in a spectacular finish.

Companion piece to this photo.

This is some experimentation. Slightly influenced by Sarah Ann Loreth's painting series a tiny bit (though I didn't try to paint, but I did want a painterly quality. :)

this is zachary again. this was the first shot we took for the shoot. unfortunately, right before this, i kind of knocked him over the head with a stick (on accident!) and his face was bleeding. but he suffered through. :)

when she sleeps, she dies. her mind ceases to travel and night becomes her. before she sleeps, she prays that they will not come in the night. a they she does not know. a they she is not even sure exists.

morning after morning she finds herself barefoot and chilled, the ground scorched around her feet.

in a field.
on the roof.
before a statue of the Virgin Mary.

and every morning, it's just the same. her mind does not know where she has been, but her body does. and it's not talking.

second in my series of alien encounters.

there is a lot of experimentation going on in here, and i'm mostly okay with it. it's not perfect, but that's ok. yay learning!

for a final time as the flames lick your boots and the leather on your jacket curdles as the fire

cigarettes suck. same mirror from this photo, which i love.

despite my room being small, it has a lot of character.

she finds herself locking herself in her room more often, just sitting and staring at her reflection, peering through the flyaway hair and the shadows in the dark. she finally smiled.

I'd really like to know what you guys and gals think of my latest work with Alix. It's more fashion-y and I used rigged studio lighting. Ha. It's a bit of a departure, but I like them a lot.

Alix again. She was such a fantastic model. I really love all of these shots so far. :) Like my Facebook page to see more from this shoot that I'm not going to upload here. :)
