Los Angeles Panorama (Explored)

Neil Kremer posted a photo:

I'm not making anymore of these massive HDR panoramas until I have a super computer. When I finally got all the images cleaned and ready to merge, I hit the button and all of the lights in my house went out. My computer started smoking and I swear I heard it say, "No Mas, No Mas."

MUST SEE LARGE the .TIFF is 1.8GB

Anyway, this is Los Angels in High Dynamic Range Imagery.

If you're HDR curious but don't know what it is or where to get started, I've created this Short Video to explain it.
Gaslamp Sign

Neil Kremer posted a photo:

*The Gaslamp Quarter is a 16½ block historical neighborhood in downtown San Diego, California. The area is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places as Gaslamp Quarter Historic District. Its main period of development began in 1867, when Alonzo Horton bought the land in hopes of creating a new city center closer to the bay, and chose 5th Avenue as its main street. After a period of urban decay, the neighborhood underwent urban renewal in the 1980s and 1990s, and is today an energetic business and entertainment district.

The Quarter is home to many events and festivals, including Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp, Street Scene Music Festival, Taste of Gaslamp and ShamROCK, a St. Patrick's Day event. PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres is located one block away in downtown San Diego's East Village. The Gaslamp Quarter, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, extends from Broadway to Harbor Drive, and from 4th to 6th Avenue, covering 16½ blocks. It includes 94 historic buildings, most of which were constructed in the Victorian Era, and are still in use with active tenants including restaurants, shops and nightclubs.

I was able to snap off these 7 exposures standing in the middle of traffic. Luckily the +3 exposure was long enough to get those light trails on the right. That guy was not happy that I asked him to wait while I took a picture with my tripod set-up in traffic.

What's left of the old train system. Now it's a tourist trap run by Nazis that call the police on you for taking pictures. They actually hand you a typed warning explaining that they are aware of photographers and because of the "Nations Terrorists threat" since 911, they do not allow any video or camera photography on the property.
This is my favorite. I'm very proud of this HDR image. Another one thatI used Photomatix and HDRtist.

3 Exposures from a very secret roof top. I will never give up this location as I have big plans for it. Well, big plans as photos go.

Lightroom adjustments only.
Those FREE OnOne Presets for Lightroom 3 are amazing. Those guys at OnOne really know what they're doing.

HDR image
Downtown Los Angeles with a crazy sky.
I've been looking at this guy "Mudpig's" (not sure if you capitalize that but ...) images of NYC a lot. I'm a fan and he adds color to most of his skyline shots so I thought I would try it. Not to copy him but just to try something new. I really don't like to add anything to my images in the way of color or texture but it seems to be what people like around here, so it's red.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall id my favorite building in LA. I can't help but shoot it when in the are and it's alway hard to come up with new angles. For this one I found roof-top access but couldn't get the downtown buildings in the shot to complete the skyline. I had to rent another hovercraft and found my spot just 8 feet off the roofs edge. Hope you like it.
