Who says mid-day light is no good for photography?

A first visit to the east side of Loch Lomond. Made a day of it starting further north @ Inversnaid in the morning and arriving here after lunch hoping to capture "that tree" at sunset but the water in the Loch was way too low for the iconic shot so we just wandered along its banks for a while in anticipation of those thick clouds breaking up and letting some colour through in time for sunset.

Best viewed large because I saved this image with the border I added in PS making this a much smaller image here, D'oh!

Taken at the start of what turned out to be a great day trip with the camera and my buddy Craig who incidentally faired far better than I on this particular trip capturing some stunning LE shots with the big stopper.

Arriving here just after 6pm we hoped that this sky would produce a suitably colourful sunset to make up for "the tree" being high and dry on the banks. It got off to a slow start but it eventually produced some amazing colour.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago at BCA Glasgow. I visited the auction on 2 previous occasions just to get a feel for things but on this day the adrenalin took over and she was mine. Originally bought for a new business venture but I am also now thinking along the lines of a camper conversion that will hopefully give me the inspiration to get out and about more often with the camera. It has been a workhorse in its previous life with its former keeper not providing her with much TLC as you can see from the state of the roof. The pics really do it justice here as the paintwork needs reconditioning all over and when these were taken I had only addressed the roof.
