Wood floor was salvaged from a 19th century schoolhouse in Louisiana and trucked to California by the builder.

For sure, one each CL and CR, off the ceiling.

The third one is probably CL, bounced off the wall, fairly high up.

6 lights.

Here goes:
CL -- one in the far left corner, bounced. One bounced off the wall at my left.

CR -- 2 lights, along the right wall, bounced. One about 10' down, the other all the way down.

One more next to me, bounced off the ceiling, because the carpet/floor in the foreground was too dark.

And the killer one, that I didn't think would work, but it did: one on the table, behind the flower arrangement, wide-angle diffuser flap, aimed at the far corner where the tree is, probably 1/16th or so. I thought this one would create nasty shadows over there, and it probably did, but they're obscured by the chandelier!

Very, very close to in-camera. I brightened the tree slightly, and performed a minor color correction.

SB80 w/ diffuser cap next to me (camera left)
SB80 next to me, camera right, bounced into the ceiling/wall. Mostly ceiling.
SB80 on top of the cabinet at the right, wide-angle diffuser, aimed across and at the tree.
Counting the window, that's 4-way lighting, which resulted in no chandelier shadow. Note that I had the dimmer switch turned way way down, too, to avoid blowing out the lamps.

You hardly ever get to shoot this angle on a dining room; this one had big cutout windows connecting to an interior stairway, I stood on the steps and shot through the window.

Here's one I kept going back and forth on, and could never decide if it has merit, or not. I'm not sure what it is about this image that bothers me.
I've cropped this from the original image, which I think helps, but I'm still not sure....

It's too long ago for me to remember how this was lit, except that there's clearly light coming from around the corner to the right, in the family room (shadows on ceiling beams), and a couple of lights in the foreground area, judging by the shadows coming off the light fixture.

Any feedback on this one?

I think maybe this one is my most successful attempt to date. All ambient.

Finally!!
Seems like everyone around here gets to shoot the neat-o swimming pools except me. Yesterday I got my chance. I made about 50 angles on this thing; this one seemed to work better than any of the others.

Wanted to show off the arches, since the realtor is featuring them prominently in her marketing. Can't decide if I like this one or not, I went really wide to get the big arch and the fireplace. Now I think I should have cropped somewhere.

4 lights plus one on the camera to trigger:

SB80 in dining room, bounced up into a corner.
SB80 in the foyer (image center). I opened the front door an inch and put the light on top of it, it's bounced into the wall/ceiling joint on the right side.
SB80's in the near corners of the main room: I think the one camera left is bounced, the one camera right is bare-bulb w/ wide angle diffuser flap.

Didn't know for sure if this one would work out. I knew the concrete at lower right would blow out, so I let it go overexposed and relied on ACR's recovery slider to bring it back in post.
Maybe I overdid it, but I like the overall effect of this photo.

For those of you who attended the Seattle Workshop:
This was made using the patented Scott Hargis Bedroom Setup.

1 SB80 perched on the top of the door, more or less over the camera
1 SB80 camera left, on top of the desk, bounced into the wall.
1 on-camera with diffuser cap, aimed to the right (things were darkest over there).
I had to do some minimal cleanup of a soft chandelier shadow over the clock and to the left of the tall bureau. But because it was cross-lit, it wasn't too bad.
Shot RAW and I knew the color balance would be wildly blue since I was bouncing so much light off of blue walls. I ended up adjusting the color temperature slider all the way to 7200K before it looked even close to natural!

Lots of ambient in this one. Augmented by:
SB80 in a pass-through behind the stove (camera left) wide-angle diffuser flap down, aimed straight across at probably 1/16th.
SB80 camera right, diffuser cap, about 1/8th (just trying to bring the overall brightness up).
SB80 on a short stand behind the ell (sort of directly below the ovens) bounced into the back of the ell. Note the slight hotspot on the near side of the island.

And there was one on-camera, as well, diffuser cap, about 1/16th.

Another from the Standard Bedroom Setup we played with in Seattle. With a twist.

SB80 on the top of the door, bounced into the wall/wall/ceiling joint.
SB80 camera left, bounced into the wall.
On-camera filling in.
Twist: a third SB80 is on the floor behind the bed, bounced into the bed at about 1/64th, to brighten a dark area back there.
Note the shadow on the floor, this is from the light perched on top of the dresser. You could reverse engineer this by looking at the shadows underneath the nightstand, too.

Looks a little red on Flicker.

Umm...lessee....
SB80 camera left and down a ways, aimed up at the sloping ceiling, about 1/8th.
SB80 right next to me aimed up at the ceiling at about 1/4th (main light). A second SB80 is perched next to this one, aimed bare-bulb across the room at the rear corner, about 1/32nd. This light feathers across the furniture and strikes the entire back wall.

On-camera 430ex diffused, filling in up the middle.

5 Lights.

SB80 camera left, up pretty high bounced into the wall. Another balanced on top of it is aimed bare-bulb across and to the left, at quite low power, maybe 1/64th?

Another SB80 camera right, up high, bounced.

Number 4 is in the distant living room, bounced off the right front corner at about 1/4th, I think.

On-camera 430ex diffused for the foreground, and triggering the SB's.

The foyer is ambient.
