I just found out that Thirsk's market square was used for one of the shots in the album art of Pulp's Different Class. I rummaged round to find my CD and it's true.

This is now my favourite bit of Thirsk Trivia.

Thirsk Market Square. Not a lot has changed here. Even the photographer's shop is still to let. If I was hard core I'd have done this at ten past three, but I'd have been hard pressed to get the boys from school on time.

Thirsk Tesco car park. I think the store has been extended so you can't get exactly the same view today.

I can't prove it, but why wouldn't the Tescos be the Thirsk branch? The bungalow is on Ripon Way.
