8:19 p.m. William Neil, a National Symphony Orchestra organist, rehearses for a concert in the organ loft of the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center. Neil, class of 1966, was on campus to receive an Alumni Fellow Award and to perform with brass and trombone players at a Bach's Lunch event.

The recently-reunited New Kids on the Block opened their set at the Bryce Jordan Center with their hit 1991 single "Call IT What You Want," closing with 1989 hit single "Hangin' Tough." The group performed before an enthusiastic audience on Tuesday, March 24.

Pianist Cyrus Chestnut performs with the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band as the band performs on stage in Eisenhower Auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Chestnut also visited Penn State earlier this year, as he was a clinician for the Penn State Jazz Festival on April 4.

The two were joined by violinist Itzhak Perlman for a special concert at Eisenhower Auditorium on Penn State's University Park campus. The only other scheduled performance for the trio of virtuosos is at Carnegie Hall.

The concert consisted of two sets of big band jazz and swing music with an intermission. Members of the audience honored the musicians with a standing ovation at the close of the concert, which lasted more than two hours.
