Confessions of an Airedale Cuz Ball Addict ~ 23/52

sgcallaway1994 posted a photo:

Week #23: This picture of Brock was taken, specifically for the 52 weeks for Dogs Group. Recently Brock has developed a strange obsession with his Cuz Ball. He carries it with him where ever he goes. Indoors all he wants is someone to toss it him. Its a personal challenge to see if he can catch it before it hits the ground. If you try and ignore him, he'll drop the wet, slimey, saliva ridden ball right in the middle of your lap - beware!

Technically : Decided I needed to continue to refine my action taking photography skills, or should I say, lack there of. I pulled out my kit lens, the 18mm to 70mm. This time I tried something new. I shot in Shutter Priority mode (to stop the action and achieve a shaper focus) without a flash. Using a flash on camera limits my shutter speed to 200. I also used continuous autofocus with "burst" mode activated. Minimal post processing done in LR and Photoshop.

Assessment: I'm happier with the sharpness of this photo, still not 100% perfect focus on the eye. However, it is quite a challenge to be the photographer and also the one tossing the ball. The available light was better for this type of shot (ISO stayed at 200). I'm a bit bothered by the front payw being slightly cropped. Curious to hear what other may think. Input and constructive criticism ALWAYS welcome!
