WeaponSmith... posted a photo:

When the US took it's revenge on the European Union, it's landing forces in Germany immediately annihilated most or all defending ground forces in Kiel, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Hamburg, and Flensburg, forming a wall around the north of the American's eventual goal: Berlin. The fall of these cities spelled an immediate doom for the Bundeswehr, and the Gottkanzler commanding them.
With the demise of the cities attributed to the heavy armor support from the M1A2 Abrams and the M3 Bradley. The Bundeswehr needed a new anti-materiel rifle, and they needed one fast.
So, the best minds of Deutschland collaborated in one large military project that had the potential to alter the course of the entire war.
Free of the chains that NATO had placed upon them, the developers first decided that it was too costly to allow the Americans to steal their precious ammunition, so they removed the STANAG-based magazine and replaced it with a more proprietary magazine, one which staggered 10 rounds, and was extremely durable in the field.
They then developed a round so obscure, that even the most developed modular-barrel systems could not accept it, and the result was the Saboted .472 Round. Just short of a .50 Cal, the .472 delivers a more accurate and powerful shot due to the unique base saboting used in the round and the new rifling twist of 1/13".
The design was meant to penetrate tanks, but due to the .472's accuracy, it delivers match-grade performance up to 2 km away.
The new digital scope includes numerous digital readouts, including clip capacity and remaining shots, distance to target (judged by built in infra-red laser. (May be turned off)), and wind and elevation levels.
Due the large kick of the .472 round, the entire barrel moves to absorb up to 50% of the recoil, and serves also to assist with jamming. The system may be switched from standard .472 to the awesome .650 round (also developed simultaneously to the .472) in less than two minutes, although this reduces mobility and requires a two man team to carry the gear.
The stock is a recoil-absorbing, non-adjustable stock, which also absorbs 10% of recoil if shouldered properly.
Tests prove that the .472 is capable of penetrating up to 6 inches of solid steel up to 300 meters away. And delivering a killing shot from up to 5 km away. These tests proved to be extremely positive and the weapon was set for mass production immediately.
Within a few months, the Bundeswehr was capable of retaking all cities captured by the USA, save for Hamburg, which was heavily garrisoned by more than just tanks.
The proprietary magazines and the ammo did help the Bundeswehr in the long run, as most of the American forces were using STANAG-based magazines, and could not easily adapt the cartridge nor the magazine developed by German ingenuity. The .472 was the preferred round in most sniper teams, but a few selected the .650 round, which has reported to have killed a VIP inside a concrete-reinforced bunker with walls eight (8) inches thick. (Still contested as of 2074.)
The rifle fared extremely well against American armor, and reduced many APC's to piles of scrap metal and twisted hulks. Since adoption of this rifle, American armored and otherwise mobile casualties have increased by almost 97%.
The Bundeswehr now has phased out the PSG1 and the AWSM in favor of this weapon, and is still using it against many targets of opportunity, making this weapon the righteous hammer of justice for defending Bundeswehr forces.
