Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park is one of my favorite places to shoot in San Francisco. When I saw the soft clouds in the sky this morning, I couldn't resist taking some shots there.

Shot from the Butterflies & Blooms exhibit at the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. Tripods were not allowed, so I had to shoot this hand held with my 100-300mm zoom. I probably had less than 5% of shots in good focus.

Bliss Dance is a 40 foot steel sculpture by Marco Cochrane created for Burning Man 2010. It was constructed on Treasure Island and has been on display there for the last few years. There are some internal lights, but most of the light is projected onto the sculpture from four poles, one of which is in the foreground here. The Bay Bridge and San Francisco skyline are in the background. The bright light behind the Bay Bridge is from AT&T Park, where the Giants were hosting the Rockies.

I headed over to the Marina District after shooting at Lombard Street, but the sky was too dark for the best shots. I reduced the shadows quite a bit to brighten the sky and also desaturated the orange and yellow tones. I still have trouble with clipped highlights on these types of shots. It may just be a limitation of my camera sensor.

The Moon hung around near this spot for over an hour. Sometimes, the moon will rise very quickly, but I don't know what determines the speed of the moon's rise.

I spent this blue hour in my San Francisco hotel waiting for the rain to stop. This view is looking southwest over the Yerba Buena Gardens and the Metreon. There are some reflections in the window, but they're not too bad.

United jet taxiing to a gate in Terminal 3 at San Francisco International. The wet tarmac did a nice job of reflecting the blue sky.

This is one of my favorite views in Golden Gate Park. The weather was very odd last Saturday. It would rain for a few minutes and stop and then start again. The sun came in and out, so I looked around for a rainbow, but I didn't see one.

A cable car heads east and down the hill on California Street. This is a busy intersection with just constant flashing red lights in all 4 directions. A number of drivers and pedestrians were waiting for a green light that never came.

Pier 7 view of the Embarcadero holiday lights. It rained most of Sunday and I missed the blue hour waiting out the rain. It finally stopped raining and I got a few final shots before leaving town.

I'm mostly happy with this shot, except for the blown out spot lights. The spotlights provided colorful light for this shot, but they seem a distraction as well.

It was very quiet outside the Ferry Building Sunday night, so I took my time setting up this fisheye shot. I wish the Rokinon lens handled lens flare better, but it is a reasonably priced and sharp lens.
