Before work started up again, I decided to take one more roadtrip to end the summer right. I decided to make the 9 hour drive up to Oregon because my other option was the American Southwest, and that's just crazy hot this time of year.

I've only been to Oregon once before (over a decade ago) and didn't get to see much. This time around, I was determined to see the famed Oregon Coast.

As you can probably tell by my photostream, I'm a big fan of sea stacks, monoliths, rock formations and places where the ocean meets land. Who isn't right? Well I've heard that Bandon Beach is one of the best places on the west coast of the United States to see all those things.

It was quite a sight...

I waited hours to take this one. The canyon wasn't visible all morning and it was sprinkling intermittently. It finally cleared up around one o'clock...and it was absolutely breathtaking. Some say it is the greatest view in the Pacific. I have no idea if that's true or not, but I do know that this picture in no way does it justice.
