At 1842m above sea level, Mt McKay is the highest drivable peak in Australia, and possibly the highest public road in Australia.

This photo is of the communications building and former fire-watcher's tower on the summit with lighting provided by the moon.

These flowers are not native flora, but looked pretty nonetheless on the side of Mt McKay. I tried photographing them in both natural light and with the aid of a flash, but then, just as I was about to leave, the sun peeked through and provided the light that I had been looking for. Perfect timing for once !!

Mt Bogong is on the far horizon.

These Snow Gums were burnt in the Alpine Bushfires and have now weathered to a silvery grey colour.
