Submitted for Week #20 of "52 in 2013" flickr group. Theme "Diptych with another member"

This is a transatlantic collaboration between Lucie (Chizuka2010) in Canada and myself in Ireland. Lucie and I shared many many ideas for this theme and if there was a first place for the most ideas we would certainly win hands down but due to time constraints and weather conditions some ideas had to be shelved but I am pleased with the final idea and photo. I am amazed that even though these ferns grew so many miles apart they fit perfectly together, nature is wonderful. Thanks so much to Lucie for putting this shot together and it has been a pleasure to diptych with her and make a new transatlantic flickr friend. :-)

I was really looking forward to this weeks theme but for some reason the week got away from me and I never got to take any of the shots I had planned. I took my little girl to our local toy shop during the week and she bought a new toy with her own pocket money that she had saved up, she told me she loved her new toy. I think buying it herself made it all the sweeter. I took this shot with my iphone and played around with it in BeFunky. :-)

I set up a few shots at home this week but none of them really worked, I think my heart wasn't in it so in desperation I took my camera with me while I did a bit of retail therapy at a nearby shopping outlet, in the underground car park I passed this vibrant green lift block and I noticed a little red fire alarm box and I thought to myself that will do, so here it is, not exactly the kind of shot I like to take but it fits the bill. :-)

I bought these glass swivel stick some years ago and rooted them out of storage in my attic for this weeks theme. They are pretty little sweet shapes. I didn't leave myself much time for shots and was blessed the sun came out to give me some sparkly bokeh. I hope to catch up with everyones photos real soon, I had a little break from flickr for the last few weeks but I am looking forward to catching up on everyones shots. Thanks for visits as always. :-)

This is ornament in my garden that I left abandoned to the elements for quite a while now, I like the way it has started to blend in with its surroundings, nature is wonderful when left to its own devices. :-)

I found this weeks theme a hard one, I was lucky to get some fine weather and I seemed to be finding shadows everywhere but none I particularly liked so I eventually settled on this one.

I am a very sad girl today as yesterday when I moved all my photos to my external hard drive to free up some space on my computer all the photos I had uploaded to Flickr disappeared along with all my contacts lovely comments and any photos that made Explore disappear as well :-(. It happened before and I have now found out that it has something to do with the synchronising of iphoto and the uploaded I use to upload to Flickr. In an attempt to console myself I made a collage of my shots from "52in2013" which I have posted below and have used it along with my MacBook Pro as my shot for this week. Maybe if I had been more technically minded with my computer this would have not happened and hence the tie in with the theme this week. Looking forward to seeing all your takes on the theme. :-)

Well this week I could not for the life of me think of a M that I wanted to take a photo of so I decided on Marshmallows, it was meant to be a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallow floating on the top looking all scrummy and cosy but you all know how ideas in your head never really pan out so I have ended up with a totally different shot, I did try the hot chocolate shot but it didn't look either scrummy or cosy more like messy and sloppy. Looking forward to seeing everyones shots. :-)

The Botanical Gardens, Dublin

There is a TV series called the 'The Ice Cream Girls' being shot on my local beach at the moment and they have put up some temporary colourful beach huts, I tried to get some shots of them today but it proved to be a little difficult as they were shooting around everything I wanted to snap. I put together a little mosaic of the best of a bad lot. :-)

It's been a busy weekend here in Ireland, first Patrick's Day and now today is Mother's Day, at least we have Monday off to recover. A friend of mine gave me these beautiful tulips last week and I thought I would try and capture their vibrant colours. :-)
