Gorman Falls - Colorado Bend State Park, TX

I have been patiently waiting to shoot this fall for sometime now. I was here last year and was able to capture a mediocre picture of Gorman Falls, but I was determined to come back with better lighting as I knew this place had wonderful potential. I guess patience and determination paid off as I am finally happy with the result.

I have been very unlucky with wildflowers this year as a lot of areas in Texas has been exceptionally dry. I might have been a little late with these sunflowers as well as the constant 100 degrees weather and lack of rain really took a toll on what would have been a really beautiful field.

It has been an exceptional strange weather in Texas this past year. We have had everything from snow blizzards (remember the superbowl), icy roads, heat wave in the middle of Spring, and now severe drought. Normally, this time of the year the whole state would have been blooming all sorts of wildflowers. Fortunately, Ennis County has been getting a small amount of rain that resulted to some nice patches of bluebonnets in the area.
