I remember how lost I was the first time there, les traboules. I couldn't even find the starting point. However I returned there the next day. I recalled it was a Saturday. I got a map and walked through those ancient gates by myself. Following the imaginary footsteps, I had amused myself with a slight of fidelity that afternoon, from La Croix-Rousse to L'Hôtel de Ville, from here to nowhere.

As I woke up, I knew I should start packing.

It wasn’t late but I’d better get off a bit early. I had a huge bottle of beer last night and I felt asleep soundly, fortunately. I was surfing on the Internet all night but nobody responded.

I went to the Gare St Roch a bit early. As I was waiting, I was imagining what if he showed up dramatically in front of me. Since I’ve sent out a message, or a couple of them last night. I hoped he would come, I really did. I went on the train promptly, and the train departed on time. So that’s it. Bye Montpellier. During the journey on board, I was listening to Noah and the Whale again. At the first couple of songs, my nose’s got an unpleasant tickling. Tears were running around my eye sockets. It just lasted a few minutes and was so authentic. I wasn’t ashamed of that under those shades, as I reckoned that I was obliged to feel that way. Sadness.

Having arrived in Paris, it took me so long to find the hotel. It was in 17e arrodissment and was quite far from the metro. Moreover, metro in Paris is totally complicated to me. I’ve bought different kinds of tickets here and I don’t know why they don’t work sometimes. Having put my luggage in my room, I went off to visit the city. This time was different, alone, in the dusk, and with a numb heart. The sunset in Paris was beautiful. I walked along La Seine, took some photos with a camera loaded a new film roll, an expensive Fujifilm I bought in Lyon. It was relaxing, yet helped distract my disoriented thoughts. At night, I dined in a restaurant near Les Champs-Élysées. I’ve ordered some wine too.

And my last night in Paris ended in stupidity and alcoholic-driven impulses. At least now I know how to walk back to the hotel from L’Arc de Triomphe in the middle of the night.

When I woke up, it was already afternoon. So I decided to have some brunch and tea. I’m getting more and more fond of doing everything in bed, especially eating. It’s just so convenient and lazy.

I was reading an unfinished book in bed later felt a bit dozy. Jeff has arrived at the entrance of our résidence. I went down to pick him up and then went back to bed, maybe for a prolonged quick nap. I don’t really remember. I told Jeff that I wanted to go to the shopping centre He then told that Helory and Yanik was coming. I was yelling “No way” inside. I would be so flipping embarrassed looking at my new Swiss acquaintance.

A few minutes later, they arrived and knocked at my door. As I opened the door, Yanik was laughing so hard at me. I was like, “Okay. Hi, bye.” And he still remembered that I kept yelling, “I want to pee, I want to pee” that evening. All in all, he thought I was a funny person. That’s what my image always will be. He constantly mocked me and warned me not to drink again. We shared our music preference together with my fellow schoolmates and talked about our own hometown. He’s a genuine guy indeed. I’ve taken him some photos and talked about stupid things. As the sun was setting, we went out for dinner because the kitchen down there was dirty as hell.

After dinner, he insisted on walking us back to the dorm. When we parted, he hugged everyone. However, as he turned to me, he lifted me up and I was flung like a doll. Not just that, he once tried to shove me into a sand field and pushed my head amicably sometimes. That reminded me of the most embarrassing night that I was drunk, he picked me up like a bride… He must have reckoned me as a pet. Anyway, he’s really a nice chap. He’s just so content to be friend with.

On the second day in Amsterdam, it was raining. It felt so cool in the morning. I didn’t hold an umbrella when I was out. A hoodie could do it well. Since the weather was such unstable, I decided to spend the morning in museums. First Rijksmuseum, and then Van Gogh Museum. It was such a shame that I’ve lost the ticket of Van Gogh Museum. However, both are extraordinary. I’ve bought some souvenirs and postcards in both museums.

FYI I was really hungry until I sat down in a restaurant called “Heineken Hoek” in Leidseplein. I have to say the tea was really good. I think I’m going to buy some in the supermarkets if they offer.

The weather was getting worse. I couldn’t stand straight in the wind since I was shivering so so badly. I returned to the hostel to get changed. Then I had my lunch in Heineken Hoek. Later, I’ve bought a ticket to Den Haag. Fortunately, the sun shone in there, but the wind still blew hard. I was supposed to do some sightseeing there; nonetheless, this city is really modern in a certain way. I went shopping for a long time! I think this could be the day that I spend the most money in my vacation.
