These girls are from the Venda tribe in South Africa. Originally from Congo, the Venda migrated south. Geral Blanchard studied with a shaman from this community.

Blanchard Q'ero shaman

This is a Q'ero shaman from the high Andes of Peru. The Q'ero people represent one of the last, small remnants of the Incas. They are a peace-loving people who have maintained their peaceful, healing traditions. The Q'ero have opened up their nine ceremonial rights to others in order to teach about "love power."

The Maasai people in Tanzania are deemed to be one of the happiest people in the world living in one of the unhappiest countries. Here, a group of Maasai are traveling to see a child chosen to be the new leader of the Maasai.

Blanchard Sugarloaf Mtn

The peak at left is Sugarloaf Mountain in Winona, Minnesota, site of the yearly Dakota Peace and Reconciliation Gathering. At the base of the mountain along the Mississippi River, Dakota people gather from all parts; some even ride horseback from Canada. The gathering is all about making peace. Dakota join with European Americans to eat, play games and spend time together.
