In an attempt to get a little more accessoires, I purchased for the Vito B a third eye.
A simple, perfect coincidence-rangefinder. But that´s not really necessary.

It´s pretty easy to get used to this camera and it´s an great feeling to shoot with it.
Nevertheless it´s not suitable to be creative without thinking.

On the first glance from the far, it looks almost very simple and a little cheap. Like a Instamatic or similar. After recognising the brands and a look further, this is a very fine piece of design and engineering. 494g loaded, is not supposed to give a feeling of a toy camera. This Vitessa came in mint condition with a little fog on the lens and finder glass. A few drops of electronic cleanser on the time and aperture rings and turning the setting rings at the same time, brought the lightmeter back to life. Obviously there was also some fog on the contacts.

After some minor repair on the flash gun, called ‘Der Agfa Clack Blitzer', (www.flickr.com/photos/reprolurch/8571598410/) the whole system is complete. This bakelit-aluminium pan needs PF1B bulbs and a 22,5 (!) volt battery. The necessary conversion to 9V works perfectly. The Blitzer was specially designed and works only on the Clack and the Clack II. It´s not recommended to use it for cooking.

Two broken flashes, means to built one in mint condition. Sometimes. In this case it worked.
The leftover base plate is very useful to mount a cold shoe for an electronic flash.
Also the plug is a great thing for this project. The advantage is, nothing of the camera must be changed, exept the trigger time of the flash had to be shorten to fire exactly at full opening of the shutter.

The flash gun for the 100, 200, 300 etc. With a little luck, I found original packed flash bulbs in a mint 12 x 12 box. That means 144 Polaroids with a flash from the 60ties.

The finished BALDA Juwella.
As an interesting detail, I found a description in the net, which explains the ‘keyhole‘ at the front. It was attached to hold a cable release to provide a body mounted shutter release.

There are plenty of facts in the net.
Therefore, I´m showing this just because of the remarkable design.
I bought it for the famous egg & apple on a permanent flea market with rotten battery compartment.
Cleaning, new CR2, two of them, final treatment with a cotton tissue & Armor-All, voilá: a master piece from the 90s with an still advanced design.

The first idea was to buy a cheap non functional bellows camera and use the optics and shutter for an Polaroid conversion.
Because of a missing rivet, the Balda was a bargain. While the disassembling, the concept was changed. It´s to hard to kill it.
I made a replacement of the rivet by a tiny screw and nut, sanded it as thin as possible and cleaned the whole thing. The focus is also recalibrated and as it seems, the Polaroid project has to wait.
