These flowers bloom once a year if I'm right and it's taken me 2 years to find this spot. I got here a bit late as some of the flowers were starting to fade away, but I'm thrilled to have finally found this spot!

The Waves depend on the Ocean,
The Ocean merely watches on,
The truth is that each waves comes and goes,
But the ocean stays eternal.
We are all waves, different in appearance,
Yet belong to the same ocean.

This was a first high ISO test on the 5D iii. The sun had long gone down and there were these massive clouds darkening everything in sight. I wanted to avoid a long exposure that would make the water all "glassy", so I bumped up the ISO to 1000, yes you heard right. I was really stunned by the lack of noise in the shot. :)

I've seen so many photographers mention how they stop their car on the side of the road when they see an interesting photo opportunity. I understand where they are coming from. While in palm springs, my friends and I spotted these rain clouds at a distance. I convinced them to pull over and then went into a shooting frenzy. The clouds casting a shadow over the mountains while the heavens poured was a sight to behold.

I've been quite intrigued by this spot, having seen so many versions of this place online. I decided to find out where this tide pool was. For the most part of the shoot, it looked like we'd have a bland sky with no clouds, but right before the sun went down, these dragon clouds, for lack of a better name appeared out of nowhere. Their reflections were crisp on the tide pool water and bam, I got the shot I wanted! :)

Big Bay Boom

I have this long standing jinx that I've been trying to break. So far, I've never had the chance of shooting fireworks on July 4th in San Diego. Something or the other has always come up. This year I was very optimistic of getting that much awaited shot, but turns out, that I was about to be messed with yet again. I had to walk nearly 2 miles with a camera and tripod to reach the shore and just as I was approaching the shore, the first batch or should I say the entire batch of fireworks went off all at once! Talk about tough luck. I now wait to see what next year has in store :D
