The ICE-TDs, or Class 605, are a class of tilting DMU built for Deutsche Bahn in 2001. Relatively unsuccessful compared to other types of ICE train, most of the class are now jointly operated by DB and DSB on services from Denmark to Hamburg and Berlin.

The driver of a Vulkan-Eifel-Bahn train between Gerolstein and Kaisersesch. This type of Schienenbus has a single open compartment with a driving position at each end, very unlike British DMUs which always include an enclosed cab.

The Eifelquerbahn is the railway line from Andernach, on the left bank of the Rhine, to Gerolstein, between Köln and Trier. The section from Andernach to Kaisersesch is operated by DB; the section from Kaisersesch to Gerolstein is operated as a heritage route. This is a Class 628 DMU waiting at Kaisersesch to head back to Andernach, after connecting with the Gerolstein service.
