Happy birthday Madonna!

I've been waiting to take this photo all year. For those of you too young to remember: Madonna was like Lady Gaga, but in the 80s. She also still does stuff.

She's one of the reasons I moved to NYC in 1996. It's an understatement to say I'm a fan.

The sad thing is, I didn't have to go out and buy any of this stuff. I had it.

The urge to take my self-portraits outside has never been greater. Maybe it's the heat.

Even though there were other people walking their dogs and going for strolls, I knew the park officially closed at 9. It was after 9. After I had taken a few shots, I saw three police officers walking towards me. I could swear I heard the woman say, "...gotta get her out of there." I took a deep breath and prepared to say the words "just a self-portrait project" in my most casual voice. As they got closer, I gave them a quick little nod and smile.

They walked right by me. Clearly on a mission towards someone or something else, I didn't even get a glance.

Yet another reason to love NYC. And police officers.

I was at The Creek and The Cave in Long Island City and decided I liked this couch. I'm being illuminated by a giant television.

It's a 5-second exposure so I'm a little blurry.

I've been wanting to take this photo forever. I knew it'd be tricky with just me and my tripod but luckily I passed my awesome friend Chris Kelly on the street and he became my human tripod for all of 15 seconds.

I love quick photos.

I took this the same day as my day 237 photo. My fiance held the camera while I triggered it with a remote (hidden in my right hand). It's much easier to time my own jump shots that way.

It was actually his idea for me to jump, and I really like this one, but I didn't use it as my 365 photo partly because I had just had a jump shot for day 233.

Hotel in Philadelphia. I came here to take some photos for a special little project that I hope to put online next week.

Only complaint about the hotel is that the internet connection is spotty. I'm uploading this from a Starbucks down the street.

I have done this before. I have blown bubbles in front of the camera and called it a self-portrait. This is not original.

Maybe I was inspired by je suis nikki's recent bubbles photo. But mostly, I was tired and there was a jar of bubbles on my dresser.

I've done nothing but sort, select, edit, upload, and take photos for the past 15 hours (Improv Everywhere, hair flips, and headshots mostly). I mean, I love it, but my eyes hurt, and after I post this I'm going to bed.

I spent a good part of the day in Coney Island helping to photograph an Improv Everywhere mission. So I figured, why not take advantage of the beach and make it my back drop?

Coney Island is awesome and I should go more often.

I like traffic trails and thought it'd be cool to stand in front of some. I took this in Union Square using my tripod (and fiance for company).

This is not a double exposure. It's a flash (SB600 at full power) on an 8-second exposure. I left the frame after the flash to allow the traffic trails to be captured.

That dumb TGI Friday's behind me used to be a Zen Palate--a much better restaurant.

I'd been wanting to go back to this park for a long time. I used to jog there and one time I ran a 5K race. That was back when I took good care of my body.

I went a little later than I had wanted to and brought the wrong lens. Oh well. It was a nice stroll.

I photographed a show at UCB Theatre and shot this afterwards. It's the back hallway and not as creepy as it looks. I did a very early 365 photo in an adjacent hallway.

I'm trying to use fewer white wall backgrounds so I thought it would be an interesting change.

I'm glad I did it too because when I got home I was dead tired and fell right asleep.

I had to squeeze this photo in between three hair flip sessions followed by too long of a nap and going to the premiere screening of Big Lake, a new show on Comedy Central (starring a great guy from UCB named Chris Gethard), which starts tonight at 10pm. My life is TERRIBLE.
