The Wood Stork (Mycteria americana) is a large American wading bird in the stork family Ciconiidae. It was formerly called the "Wood Ibis", though it is not really an ibis.
While it is nice to see birds photographed in a static position, I have made it my new mission to try and capture them in flight.

Bison graze on Paynes Prairie, near Gainesville, Florida. I waited for them to walk through the grass, hoping to get a glimpse of these incredible creatures. The 45 minute wait was worth it.

I recently saw the most bison I have ever seen on Paynes Prairie. They were grazing at sunset with no one else around. A quiet dinner, enjoyed by all.

Night shot of a bison. I turned the ISO to Hi, or 12800 on my Nikon D7000. I was amazed the shot even came out as it was really dark.

The American Bittern (Botaurus lentiginosus) is a wading bird of the heron family Ardeidae. The American Bittern feeds in marshes and shallow ponds, dining on amphibians, fish, insects and reptiles. This bird's numbers are declining in many parts of its range due to habitat loss.
