P.S. Fun fact: if you view this at the largest you can see sand from the scan. (The beach always seems to come home with me.)

This is for me. A reminder, an affirmation, and moving forward in the right direction.

Well goodness, hello, and HIP-hooray!

I officially created one or more pieces of art every week this past year. I'm a bit in awe that it's over and while somedays I was in complete despair of not liking what I've been creating, I took time this past week to really sit and look through the progress I've made both artistically and personally.

For me, art is therapy; I do it because I need to create to remain balanced. I want to thank each and every person that has followed my work this past year! It means a mountain-full. A huge thank you to my friends (you know who you are) for pushing me past negativity and artist's block and truly believing in what I do as an artist!

I'm not exactly sure what or where I'll go next. Maybe I'll continue working towards handwritten, painted works (365 of that perhaps?) or maybe I'll take it easy awhile. Or maybe I'll get back to diptychs my first photographic love. All in all, I learned that self-portraits are tremendously difficult when you want for something to come easy and end up not being as good as you'd like. More importantly, I developed a renewed love for watercolors and new venture in scanography. I'm pretty stoked about that.

Slowly but surely I'm piecing everything together, but the next thing for me is showing my body of watercolors and scanography this coming First Friday! The last time I got the pleasure of showing them was back in April and now I have twice as much. It'll be a perfect ending for this year long venture. Next comes building a website and etsy (maybe?)! Eeek it's all so daunting, yet completely exciting!

When I get a chance I'll add the second watercolor I did for this final week! Also I'll add the flyer of where I'll be showing so if you're in the PDX area stop on by.

Hello and hip-hooray, I'm nearly done with my 52weeks... awesome! Well can I just say that this photograph is the second expansion I've done and I'm pretty pleased in comparison to my first one!

Also, I may or may not have gotten in trouble for taking this photo! Eeek, go figure.

Long story long:

I had been scoping out places for my selfie this week and my original spot wasn't what I wanted anymore, but I found this huge plot of land that was quite unkempt and I was 75% sure it was public property due to the location. Well! I was wrong it was some guy's backyard and he wasn't very happy which makes sense. I would've asked had I realized and had someone been home in the house kind of sort of near this land. When he asked what I was doing (me thinking I was on public land and figuring out quickly that I wasn't) of course blurted out I'm a style blogger... uh, just taking a photo of my outfit... um, I'm so sorry! I didn't realize...

He then proceeded to give me a lecture about how it was his land, that the cops would be angry that his dogs were barking (which only started once he came to talk to me) and that all land is private land (not true).

I, being me, was mortified and scurried away quickly as possible feeling
a) idiotic for thinking I was on public land
b) not sticking to my guns and explaining myself with poise and honesty
c) STYLE BLOGGER, whhhat? Where did that even come from?

Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing happening? What would you do or have you done? Any advice?
