For those arriving by car or coach, the office towers lining the M4 herald one's arrival in the big city, or at least the transition from the out-of-town industrial park/shopping centre wonderland. (OK, maybe I wasn't actually walking any more by this point, but it's all the same journey.)

A stunning revelation for one more used to older London Underground stations. I might take back my previous comments on London's Tube being less funky than Budapest's Metro.

London's Underground, the world's first underground railway, is surely some of London's most visited architecture, full of character if lacking the funky modernity of Budapest's, or the grandeur of Moscow's.
